LADY SOPHIE'S SOCIETY SPLASH
The youngest of the infamous Talbot sisters scandalized society at the Liverpool Summer Soiree, striking her sister’s notoriously philandering husband and landing him backside-first in a goldfish pond. And we thought Sophie was the quiet one…
When she finds herself the target of very public aristocratic scorn, Sophie Talbot does what she must to escape the city and its judgment—she flees on the back of a carriage, vowing never to return to London…or to society. But the carriage isn’t saving her from ruin. It’s filled with it.
ROYAL ROGUE'S REIGN OF RAVISHMENT!
The Marquess of Eversley was espied descending a rose trellis—escaping an irate Earl and his once-future countess. No lady is safe from Eversley’s Engagement Ending Escapades!
Kingscote, the Marquess of Eversley, has never met a woman he couldn’t charm, a quality that results in a reputation far worse than the truth, a furious summons home, and a long, boring trip to the Scottish border. When King discovers stowaway Sophie, however, the trip becomes anything but boring.
WAR? OR MORE?
He thinks she’s trying to trick him into marriage. She wouldn’t have him if he were the last man on earth. But carriages bring close quarters, dark secrets, and unbearable temptation, and suddenly opposites are altogether too attractive…

First Thought when Finished: The Rogue Not Taken is one of those books that I loved because of the leading lady and trusted Sarah to eventually make me love the leading man.
Quick Thoughts: I have now listened/read this twice (though granted the 2nd time I skipped a few things because I was doing it for a refresher). I love, love, love Sophie. She was a spitfire and very much one of those characters you just root for. I did not love King till the very end (talking almost in a panic state) but Sarah made me do it in 2 chapters flat. While this did take away from the story a bit, I oddly felt it was right for these two characters. Sophie was much more aware of herself and her working out her feelings first did not surprise me. King just had his head stuck up his arse and well it took him longer. Those last two chapters are classic Sarah MacLean! She has the unique ability to turn a story or a character upside down and make the reader go “ohhhhhhh”. Overall, even not liking King for most of the story, I had fun with Sophie’s journey (though I do want a novella for two of the other characters in the book).
Narrated By Justine Eyre / Length: 11 hrs and 46 mins
Normally I adore Justine’s narration. She is one of my favorite narrators but on this one when Sophie was disguising herself as a boy–the voice didn’t change. I popped open the book to follow along so I could keep when she was “disguised” as opposed to “herself”. That really was my only problem. Other than that the narration was spot on!

During her non-reading time you can find her hanging with her rescue furr children named after book characters: Lizzie a beautiful cattle dog mix (Pound Pup), Cinder a beautiful Shep/Pitt mix (Pound Pup), and Minerva a beautiful Shep/Pitt mix (Foster Fail). Gathering with friends and family, attending conventions, watching movies/tv shows, rooting for the 49rs, and crocheting.
