More Information:Just when you thought doomsday was over...
Centuries ago Acheron saved the human race by imprisoning an ancient evil bent on absolute destruction. Now that evil has been unleashed and it is out for revenge.
As the twin to Acheron, Styxx hasn’t always been on his brother’s side. They’ve spent more centuries going at each other’s throats than protecting their backs. Now Styxx has a chance to prove his loyalty to his brother, but only if he’s willing to trade his life and future for Acheron’s.
The Atlantean goddess of Wrath and Misery, Bethany was born to right wrongs. But it was never a task she relished. Until now. She owes Acheron a debt that she vows to repay, no matter what it takes. He will join their fellow gods in hell and nothing is going to stop her.
But things are never what they seem, and Acheron is no longer the last of his line. Styxx and Acheron must put aside their past and learn to trust each other or more will suffer.
Yet it’s hard to risk your own life for someone who once tried to take yours, even when it's your own twin, and when loyalties are skewed and no one can be trusted, not even yourself, how do you find a way back from the darkness that wants to consume the entire world? One that wants to start by devouring your very soul?

First Thought when Finished: Styxx left me absolutely gutted and wondering just where we go from here!
Story Thoughts: Just going to say upfront that there is no way I can tell you what I loved, cried, yelled, and screamed over without spoilers. So this is going to be the most generic review you have ever read in your life. In fact, let me just sum it up this way: If you loves Acheron then Styxx is a book you must read. If you have felt that the series has kind of gotten “off-track” then this is the book to bring you back in the fold. Things happen! Perspectives change! People are not what you think!
Character Thoughts: You really don’t know Styxx until this story. In fact, I would venture to say that you really don’t know a few characters fully until this story. Read but be prepared to want to punch a few of your favorites in the jaw and knock some sense in them. Be prepared to have new favorites and loves. Be prepared to actually scream at the characters to just sit the heck down and have a conversation. So basically just be prepared to be spinned around on what you think the characters are capable of because there are things that will shock you!
Audio Thoughts
Narrated by Fred Berman /LENGTH 31 hrs and 8 mins
My audio rating has more to do with subject matter than the actual narration. I actually think Fred did an excellent job as a narrator but some things were just so darn hard to listen too. In fact, I had the same problem with Ash’s book so I wasn’t that shocked when the audio just overall didn’t work for me. I think now that I have the story down, I could listen to the whole thing on audio but the initial gut wrenching was just way to painful to hear. Actually that is an nod to Fred because he made me feel everything Styxx was doing. I would just recommend that your read Styxx first so your prepped for it!
Final Thoughts: STYXX!

Wow 23 books in a series and its still 5 stars, that says something about the author and this series! You got me really intrigued about this series, thank you.. *Adds to tbr list* lol
Great review as always. Short and sweet!
This book was tough to read, I can’t imagine listening to it in audiobook. Good job!
31 hours? Oh my! I haven’t started this series yet, but I like angsty reads and want to give it a try sometime. Agreed that gut-wrenching reads are sometimes hard to take on audio. I’m intrigued!
Great review Felicia! I will read it someday.
This is a tough read but oh so good!
What a fabulous review, of course now I am sitting here wishing I could read every series and every book I come across! Maybe one day!
I am with you on that! There are so many I want to read 🙁 This was a pre-book blogging series for me 🙂
I’m trying to remember which book in this series I’ve read but I know I did enjoy the ones I read. I don’t remember since I want to read them ALL. Gah! You have me wanting to just dive into this one and not wait to catch up. What, me? Out of order? Na… 😉
Have you read Archeron’s book? That really is the only one that I would insist you read before this one. 🙂
I am so excited for this book! I wish I had the willpower to set down the books I’ve currently got on the go and start it now. Almost done Omens now on audio now, so I will probably start with the audio until I finish my kindle book.
You will love it, hate it, want to give it a hug, and then scream at it 🙂
In other word enjoy!
I’ve been preparing myself for this one because I know it’s going to be emotionally draining but I haven’t got the nerve up yet to start it. Hearing about all the character development and twists definitely helps 🙂
Oh it will knock you on your hiney. Though you are going to have to be in a place for an emotional read because it is not an easy read. It was hard and brutal.
Oh no Felicia. This one left you gutted? I’M SO NERVOUS! Acheron’s book just about destroyed me and I will never, ever, ever, ever, EVER read the first five hundred pages of it again. My heart was nearly irreparable after that first section detailing how he became leader of the Dark Hunters. On a pain level, how would you say this book compares to his? I need to know these things upfront!
Let’s just put it this way I will email you!
I am confused, I got a bunch of posts from you…and now I do not know if they were all new or not. Dang blogger
They are new (should be 3 but maybe 4) for some reason my last two Saturday posts did not trigger till today (darn technology)
