#FitReaders: Weekly Check-in Jan 22 2016

Hey FitReaders! It is time for your weekly check-in (feel free to use whatever day you want to check-in–these posts will be going up on Fridays)! How are you doing this week? Did you get a day, 2 days, 3 days of exercise? Are you on track with your other health goals! I am so very proud of you for making the effort to get heart healthy and putting exercise in your life. We can do it!

This week:

  • I am back on the exercise horse! I got my 5k in for this month and otherwise lightly treading back into my longer walks. My leg is still healing (don’t every cut through muscle it is a very slow heal) so I have to measure how it feels. It will take awhile till I am back to not worrying about it but I love being able to get walks in again.
  • I SUCKED at my meal plan this week. My parents were in, I bought a house, and had to work 40 hours before today even though I was technically off from last Friday. Needless to say I was exhausted and just not into cooking. I did eat relatively healthy though so I am going to consider it a win.
  • Have you done your 1 mile, 5K, 10K run yet and submitted it? You have 10 days left to get your name in for January 🙂 GOOD LUCK!

  1. Very late checking in but I did ok with the steps this week considering … eating on the other hand was borderline “eat anything not nailed down.” Glad to hear you are back on the horse … that was such a nasty injury.

  2. Glad you can exercise again and are doing better! Congratulations on the new house too! I hope you see even more improvement this week and are able to do more.

    I need to do something about my eating choices. I tend to eat low fat but I actually gained weight from the week before and I haven’t seen enough of a difference. I’m toying with the idea of trying Paleo for awhile to see if that will help. Maybe eliminating grains and refined sugar will do the trick though it will be extremely hard.

  3. Yay on the house and on being able to get back to exercising!!! And for getting your 5K in!!! Super great week for you 🙂 We’ve tried meal planning, but it never seems to work out for us – our schedules end up changing last minute too many times. Oh well…

  4. Glad to hear you are back to exercising this week, and to get in a 5K, at that, that’s great!

    I continued with my 4 days a week at the gym, and felt some inspiration yesterday and spur of the moment completed my first 5K ever!! I’m so excited. I know I wouldn’t have been motivated to do it without the challenge.

  5. I’ve not had a great week. Other half is quite poorly (genuinely, not just man flu!) and that’s meant lots of sweets and treats around the house. It only takes one thing to knock the meal planning good intentions out, I think. I also think buying a house is more than good enough an excuse!

    For exercise, I did a ‘body fit’ session on Sunday where I think my trainer forgot that I’m not super fit. Couldn’t walk for three days afterwards XD

    Did manage some interval training yesterday, though – trying to get my 5k time down a bit 🙂 I’m planning on doing an actual race next Saturday for the monthly 5k, but in case that falls through, I’ve already done 5k several times with my running club as a back up 🙂

  6. Yea!! I’m so happy for you on the house. And glad you are able to start moving again, albeit slowly and carefully! No worries on the food prep, you’ll get to it next week! *HUGS*

  7. Congrats on the house! Glad your healing up, that’s gotta be a huge PITA.
    Saturday’s all day class and crappy weather meant I didn’t get my steps in for that day. The rest of the week was good and I got to the gym, Monday and Tuesday. Meetings Wed & Thurs and dinner with my parents tonight.
    Stalled out on Week 5 day 3 of C25k, I know I can’t run 20 solid minutes so I am going to keep repeating it until I get it done. I have my first 5k of the year next Sunday (1/31) so keep your fingers crossed.

  8. Sighs. I am getting my lazy butt to join this again. I’ve been working out, but just been too lazy to record it. 🙂 Thanks for the motivation!!!!! I’ll have mine posted by tomorrow. 🙂

  9. I did my 5K the first weekend of the month but keep forgetting to post about it! Great job getting yours done and getting back at it!! And congrats on the house!

  10. Whoa busy week for you! Congrats on the house purchase!! I’m a seasonal exerciser, and right now is my down time, but I did stick with my eating plan and my daily weigh-ins were within my maintenance range (I’m almost 3 years into maintenance, having lost 50+lbs 🙂 ).
