Book Blog Walkers Weekly Check-in Jan 24 2014

Hey Book Blog Walkers! It is time for your weekly check-in! How are you doing this week? Did you get a day, 2 days, 3 days of walking (or other exercise)? I am so very proud of you for making the effort to get heart healthy and putting exercise in your life. We can do it! Even if it is one step at a time πŸ™‚

This week I was hit with the Flu! My activities on those days were super light. I did make myself move some but it was by no means actual exercise. However, it was this challenge that got me up at all. Thank you for the push! πŸ™‚

  • Fri: 45 min walking
  • Sat: 45 min walking
  • Sun: 45 min walking
  • Mon: 45 min walking
  • Tues: FLU
  • Wed: FLU (did get up and make myself move for 30 min)
  • Thurs: FLU (did get up and make myself move for 30 min)

  1. Sorry you’ve been down with the flu, it can set you back if you push yourself when you’re sick so resting up is the way to go! Hope you make a speedy recovery. I thought this week would be my ‘crash’ week but having a long weekend away and lots of walks on the beach really got me motivated.

  2. I can’t stand how I feel when I have the flu/cold. I NEVER go to the gym when I am sick and can’t stand seeing people there with the sniffles. I wipe down the machine hardcore since I am paranoid about getting sick!

  3. Oh, noes! I hope you’re feeling better very soon! I wasn’t as good this week, but I did okay. I think I have the winter blahs. πŸ™

  4. My week of walking derailed since both of my kids have had small colds and we haven’t been able to get out. Hopefully next week we will be out again. I missed the walks. Hope you feel better!

  5. I’m so sorry you were sick! I hope you are feeling better. I wasn’t feeling well over the weekend, but tried to make myself move around a bit. I hate being sick and then I get claustrophic!

  6. Hope you feel better soon! I was definitely more active this week than last week. The extreme cold weather has not made it easy going to the gym. Walking outside while still drenched in sweat…not a good idea. I need to find more layers to wear.

  7. Oh no! I’m so sorry you got hit with the flu, that’s no fun. Don’t push yourself too hard! Great job keeping moving and I hope you feel better!

  8. Emotionally, it was a tough week for me. My girl, aka BG, had some health issues and it drove me a little crazy. But I did manage to make it out every day and get in at least my 10 minute minimum. The highlight of my week was Monday, when I went skiing with my son (aka the Boy). I was out on the slopes for over 4 hours. Book Blog Walkers has been a constant support and inspiration.

    • I’m so sorry that BG was having health issues – kids being sick is always so stressful. I hope things are doing better there. Just saw your post update and looks like you’re still doing great despite everything, so woot! Woot!

  9. So sorry to hear you’re sick…hope you are feeling better! But go you for getting up and moving around, even if it was slow walking! Even when I’m sick, I still have to take care of the dogs – they still need to go out for walks – the downside of not having our backyard fenced-in.

  10. Sigh, been in bed, trying to rest again. I am cursed. I am supposed to be walking and was hit with bronchitis and sinusitis…after having had pneumonia *headdeask*
