I am just going to say it–I don’t know a darn thing about Tarot readings but this was possibly the most fun thing I have received in a long time. I love Zombies and all things zombie related. I mean how can you not love a “monster” who craves brains. They truly are the best evil monsters ever because they have a singular goal! You have to appreciate something so simple and yet bad ass!
When Quirk contacted me about reviewing Zombie Tarot Cards I jumped, screamed, begged, and basically said “um yes ,please, NOW”! I tried to play it cool but I know I pretty much failed! I am sure I am on their loony list now but that is quite alright by me. I was not disappointed at all!
The cards up above are my favorite human ones. I really loved Granny with a gun because let’s get real–it will be the grandparents who take a no-nonsense approach to the Zombie Apocalypse. They will be like “if you would have seen what I have seen in my life…..”! Plus, don’t forget that whole 10 miles in the snow thing, up a hill, both ways.
I don’t know about you but I am following their lead! I love that she is Swords. According to the instructions (yes they were in there):Swords represent intellect, logic, courage, and conflict. I am pretty sure granny is only conflicted about how stupid all the young ‘uns are acting! Great pick for Swords!
I had a HARD time narrowing down my favorite Zombie Cards. I really loved all the “pin-up” ones and pretty much want to make a collage of them. The baby was also pretty bad ass so I had to include that one in my picture. The artwork on these cards were outstanding.
The beach pin-up (Cups) was probably my favorite. Her card represents emotions, artistic tendencies, sex, and relationships. I am pretty sure since she is doing the come to me look that she represents that card very well.
Since I am sure you would like some real actual information about the cards-I snagged some information from quirk! Also if you want to go to their site just click the image below!
About the cards from Quirk:
You’ve never seen tarot cards quite like these. Imagine the celebrated “Rider Deck” infused with the horrors of Night of the Living Dead, and the result is The Zombie Tarot—a crazy, campy interpretation of a classic divination system.
In this zombified parallel universe, wands become limbs, pentacles are biohazard symbols, and the Major Arcana is full of shambling corpses. Along with the 78-card deck, readers will receive instructions in a 96-page full-color book; its contents explain how to survive the zombie apocalypse and forecast your future using one of three different card layouts.
The secrets of The Zombie Tarot await you!
PAUL KEPPLE is the creator and illustrator of the award-winning Housewives Tarot (Quirk, 2004). STACEY GRAHAM has read tarot cards professionally for more than ten years. She is a writer based in Washington, D.C.
Thank You Quirk for the box of fun! It was GREAT!
During her non-reading time you can find her hanging with her rescue furr children named after book characters: Lizzie a beautiful cattle dog mix (Pound Pup), Cinder a beautiful Shep/Pitt mix (Pound Pup), and Minerva a beautiful Shep/Pitt mix (Foster Fail). Gathering with friends and family, attending conventions, watching movies/tv shows, rooting for the 49rs, and crocheting.
