More Information:No one creates realms like New York Times bestselling author Anne Bishop. Now in a thrilling new fantasy series, enter a world inhabited by the Others, unearthly entities—vampires and shape-shifters among them—who rule the Earth and whose prey are humans.
As a cassandra sangue, or blood prophet, Meg Corbyn can see the future when her skin is cut—a gift that feels more like a curse. Meg’s Controller keeps her enslaved so he can have full access to her visions. But when she escapes, the only safe place Meg can hide is at the Lakeside Courtyard—a business district operated by the Others.
Shape-shifter Simon Wolfgard is reluctant to hire the stranger who inquires about the Human Liaison job. First, he senses she’s keeping a secret, and second, she doesn’t smell like human prey. Yet a stronger instinct propels him to give Meg the job. And when he learns the truth about Meg and that she’s wanted by the government, he’ll have to decide if she’s worth the fight between humans and the Others that will surely follow.

First Thought when Finished: Written in Red by Anne Bishop was downright awesome! Read IT!
Read It File It: Meg is freaking awesome! She is one of the most compelling leading characters that I have read in awhile. She has innocence, gumption, and also a brutal past. I don’t know how Anne managed to wrap those 3 traits in one person but she did. The story was engaging, the world was different and interesting, and the other characters were a perfect match for Meg. Did I already say that you should just read it?
Audio Thoughts:
Narrated by: Alexandra Harris/Length: 18 hrs and 32 mins
Alexandra did an excellent job with Written in Red. I really enjoyed her narration, style, and pacing. She is going on my list of good narrators.
Final Thought: If you like Urban Fantasy then you should check out Written in Red.

This sounds like a Midnight Read!
I love this series, best new series in a long while. I’m a huge fan of the crows with their “shinies” and “the Meg”.
You are starting lots of new series. But I guess that’s what happens when you a reading machine ;D Loving the “File It” Bites.
I can’t wait to read this one! Hmmm… I may make it my next choice actually.
I sadly didn’t love this one as much as everyone else did. Too much package sorting and not enough action for me. But I can’t wait to see Simon realize that he is in love.
I’m in love with this series, with Meg and with Simon.
This one sounds really good! Going on the TBR or my TBL (listen) list! 🙂
Could have been better *hides*
Agreed! Loved this one and the narrator does a bang up job. The world building and characters are just awesome. I loved book two just as much!
I love, love, love this series. I read the books, but couple of weeks back I got the audiobooks. I haven’t listened to them, but they are there waiting for me. My precious. 🙂
Loved this book! I have read it 8 times, and Murder of Crows 2 times.
Let’s all take a moment to just appreciate how we ALL love this book. Feels nice 😉
LOVE LOVE this book.
