The Private Investigator's Handbook

Rule #1: Don't break the law

Rule #2: See Rule #1

...And then there's Addison Holmes, who makes up her handbook as she goes along.

Addison is licensed to carry and she means business. The only thing getting in her way is a sexy detective, a neighborhood watch from hell, a dead billionaire, a black market sperm bank, and a long lost heir.

Piece of cake..

First thought when Finished: Whiskey for Breakfast was another entertaining listen that had me giggling. OMG that ending!

Overall Thoughts: Oh Addison! She is hands down one of my favorite hot messes of all time. This gal just can’t seem to do anything in a traditional sense and that leads to some romping good times. This is the 3rd book in the series (I think they can all be read stand alone but you miss some character development) and the characters are still as entertaining as ever. It takes a village to help Addison crack a case (stay out of trouble) and her village rocks. I was glad to see a resolution to the love triangle even though it was another loss for me in the “character picks the other guy” lotto. The case wasn’t the strongest in the series but it was still fun to follow. Liliana just knows how to entertain and make you grin!

Audio Thoughts:

Narrated By Connie Ventress / Length: 7 hrs and 59 mins

I waited months for the audiobook to come out because Connie is Addison to me. This is one of those series that will forever be an audiobook buy for me as long as Connie is doing the narration. She has fun and quirky down to a science!

Final Thoughts: Can’t wait for the next one! I mean the ending alone made my jaw drop πŸ™‚

  1. I think I would like this, I am finding somethings work really well on for me on audio. I am listening to the first Marina Adair book, and while it is the same story I adore, I liked the voices in my head better. Do you know what I mean? I think I would love a mystery with humor though.

    • I adore Urban Fantasy, Humor, and Cozy Mysteries on audio. I can’t do super smexy books on audio–I live in fear of the audiojack falling out my device LOL

  2. I haven’t read Liliana’s books yet. I need to for sure, as she is in town a lot. So this one leans more toward the cozy mystery genre?

  3. hmm, I own part of this series on my Kindle, but I haven’t started reading it. hmm, now I am thinking this is one of those that I would enjoy on audio…off to audible I go. Great review, Felicia! smiles…

  4. I do love characters who are hot messes. They’re so much fun and make me feel a bit better about myself (I’m a hot mess…but not as bad as some). I don’t know if I’ve read any Liliana Hart. Gonna have to change that.
