Victor Cale never imagined that his sweet, shy bride, Isabella, would use her talents for creating exquisite imitation jewels criminally. But there's no denying that her handiwork was used in the theft of the Dutch royal diamonds-- right after Isa disappeared into the night.

Ten years later, Victor is sent to Edinburgh to investigate a wealthy baron's mysterious bride-to-be... who turns out to be Isa, masquerading as an alluring widow. No longer the meek girl he once knew, Isa boldly asserts that it was Victor who abandoned her, after he helped steal the royal diamonds!

Piecing together the truth of the past reawakens their volatile passions, which burns hotter than ever. But with a decade of secrets between them, Victor and Isa must trust each other to bring the real thieves to justice-- without getting burned themselves

First Thought when Finished: Holy historical goodness! When the Rogue Returns was an absolute freaking good read!

Story Thoughts: What do you do when you think you are wronged and see that person 10 years later? Especially when that person is your husband/wife? Well all I can say is that in When the Rogue Returns the banter was witty, the miscommunication was immense, and the reconnection was freaking fantastic. I enjoyed every stinking minute of this book!

Character Thoughts: Vic oh Vic! You made my heart pound and my nose twitch. You were broody, wrong, and oh so handsome. I am glad that Isabella couldn’t resist you either time. Isa! You were smart, resourceful, and your secret was mighty. I am glad that you were the woman who could hold it all together and thrive. Together you made a wonderful pair!

Final Thoughts: Oh how I loved When the Rogue Returns!

YAY! A non-zombie/thriller/horror book that you LOVED! And I’ve been meaning to read something by Jeffries for awhile now. Thanks for the starting place πŸ˜‰ And, oh! Hey, look at that–I already have the first in series *fist pumps*

Miscommunication has the potential to be awesome or annoying (when it’s stuff that could be solved with a ten-minute discussion) but it sounds like it works in this one. Wasn’t sure about this, considering he kind of ditched her and then came back 10 years later (couldn’t she get him declared dead and find someone who cares?).

hehe you will love this! Trust me when I say that it throws a twist (close to the beginning) that makes you think that there are two other people (other than the couple) you would like to konk over the head πŸ™‚

I feel you! I am actually in a romance reading slump. Luckily I have books from Feb still to review so it won’t look like it for awhile LOL
