#FitReaders: Weekly Check-in March 20 2015

Hey FitReaders! It is time for your weekly check-in (feel free to use whatever day you want to check-in–these posts will be going up on Fridays)! How are you doing this week? Did you get a day, 2 days, 3 days of exercise? Are you on track with your other health goals! I am so very proud of you for making the effort to get heart healthy and putting exercise in your life. We can do it!

This week was a sad week in the Sparks household as my long time #NuttyMutt Tonks went to Rainbow Bridge on Monday. I do two weigh-in’s a week: Saturday and Thursday and let’s just say grief is not a weight loss friend. Not so much eating but sleeping pills are hell on the metabolism. I always feel weighted down when taking them.  Last night I didn’t need them to sleep though so hopefully I can shake off some the after effects pretty quickly. I am actually waiting till Saturday to see how my weight shakes out.

On the other hand, my working out is totally back on track. I have started doing 20 min walks on the treadmill before work and core/arm/legs workouts after work.  My clothes are beginning to fit better again. I feel good about that!

    Ran my St Pat’s 5k with my Vivian. she got 2nd place in the dog division, she needs a faster human. I was 12th time wise in my age group and my faster 5k time ever (3 minutes faster despite stopping to toss my cookies). I started a 10k training program and retired my shoes and somehow have my knee messed up. I have been keeping up with my step goal but only walking. Work, life, stress, illness, and everything got to me Friday and I had a full meltdown. I made some changes in my life and hopefully things will improve.

    Next week will be rest until my knee feels better. Plus I have a work conference that will be 14 hours days so I will have little chance to actually get steps or training in.

    I’m sorry to hear about your dog, it’s never easy when one of them leaves us. I’m glad your workout is back on track though! I started a challenge for myself just this week and so far I think it might end up helping a lot 🙂 Have a great week!

    Oh Felicia…I’m so sorry about Tonks! I haven’t been online much this week, so I somehow missed this. Sending you lots of love and hugs. Good job with the workouts, though! Don’t let that scale get you down! I avoid the scale like the plague…I just my weightloss by the way my clothes fit…much better for my psyche that way!

    Ignore the scale! lol. I know if I look at it and it does not please me then I get angry and I begin to think, “It’ll never happen”. So…I ignore it. Once in a while I’ll step on.

    I’m so sorry about Tonk’s Felicia. I remember not sleeping well for almost a month after I lost my last dog – Lily. There’s just a huge void for a while.

    My workouts have been sporadic. I’m trying to get back into a groove. I took a few days off when we went to the beach last week and I’ve had the hardest time trying to start up again. It’s like going all the way back to the beginning!

      Yes 🙁 She passed away rather suddenly on Monday evening. It has been a tough week–even with Cinder and Lizzie it is just quieter. I miss her furry face! I am sad but trying to just concentrate on all the love she brought into my life!

      Yep I think it is why I am just not letting the scale get to me this week. It just isn’t stuff I can deal with so I am concentrating on the working out.
