#FitReaders: Weekly Check-in

Hey FitReaders! It is time for your weekly check-in (feel free to use whatever day you want to check-in–these posts will be going up on Fridays)! How are you doing this week? Did you get a day, 2 days, 3 days of exercise? Are you on track with your other health goals! I am so very proud of you for making the effort to get heart healthy and putting exercise in your life. We can do it!

This week I was bad! I lost some weight which should be a good thing but I am pretty sure I aggravated my back instead of healing it. Here is the thing: Listen to your drs! So last week I averaged 7200 steps a day–I was supposed to knock it down to around 4000 with a max of 6000 and no more than 5 min of “hard” walking at a time. I didn’t follow that and when I went to see her today, I was told two weeks of 4000 to 5000 steps with rest. So I will be doing that. It sucks but I feel like I don’t want to worsen it. I want to heal so I will be following rules. Y’all hold me to it!

    Not my most shiney week. Seemed very busy, too much sitting and I was a snack monster. Fitbit did tell me that I have walked across New Zealand, which is cool. Not beating myself up, as it is what is it is.

    I read an article this week about how sleeping in a knees up position helps lower back pain. Either on your side knees toward chest, or propping pillow under heads and knees.

    this has actually be a great week for me. I got my “lake” portion of my teaching signed of for my scuba instructor, I got 12k steps on 6 days even with being in our office in training and one night with a meeting until 9pm.

    I have stayed on my training schedule but whole 30 and being in the office wasn’t happening. I plan on starting again in a few weeks. I did loose about 6 lbs total in 4 weeks. I need to do my measurements but I know my clothes are much looser.

    Ugh injuries suck 🙁 I have this pain in my foot that I’ve been semi-ignoring the past three weeks, hoping it would go away. Its not – it hurts worse and I’m starting to think I have a stress fracture from running and also the jumping in water aerobics. 🙁 couldn’t run today, it hurt so bad and I’m going to have to stay off it ad much as possible. So I sort of know where you’re at. Good luck & take care of you!

    Hope your back feels better! I know it’s tough to listen to the doctor and to not push yourself. Rest up; take the time to read a lot 🙂

    My week was good. Didn’t make it to the gym as much as I would have liked; crummy winter weather. But I’m still exceeding my step goal, so as long as I can keep that up, I’m happy. Trying to eat better, adding more veggies than I normally do. I’ve been REALLY bad about my water intake; gotta improve that!
