2016 Virtual 5k/10k/Fun Mile Series April Finish Line

FitReaders2016

Welcome to #FitReaders hosted by Geeky Bloggers Book Blog and That’s What I’m Talking About.

What is a Virtual Fun Mile/5k/10? This Virtual Fun Mile/5k/10k is organized online and FitReaders from all over the world can compete. Where it is different from a traditional Fun Mile/5K/10k is that you are responsible for completing the walk/run at any place you desire, at any time during the race timeframe that works for you.  You must complete one of the 3 races in one session:  1 mile is for those just starting out.  5k/10 are for those that are ready for a bigger push. For this series, each race will need to be completed between the first and last day of the month. You will need to take a picture at the end of the race (not of your face if you don’t want but your time, song list, ect) and post it either on FB, Twitter, or your check-in. Then add your name to the finish line below and what race you completed (in the comments) so that I can keep track for end of the year medals (for 5k/10k) and certificates (for Fun Mile). Grab your virtual ribbon so that you can display it proudly on your check-ins either on your blog, FB, or Twitter. If at the end of the year you have completed 10 of the 12 races–you will get a medal or certificate!

REMINDER: you most complete either a Mile, 5k, or 10k in one session. At the end of your session sign the linky below and leave which one you completed in the comment section!

  1. I barely have time to breathe, let alone do blog posts right now, but I hashtag fit readers on every single run so there is proof out here I finished them. 🙂
    4/6/16 – 5 K complete (6.27 miles total)
    4/10/16 – 1 mile complete (4.01 miles total)
    4/23/16 – 10 K complete (9.27 miles total)

BTW, these are all straight from my Nike app so these are not daily accumulation totals 🙂

My race with Vivian the wonder dog was our fastest time. 700KM for the year.

  3. 2 5k’s in the books for April so far!!!

Question – If I end up doing a 10k this month, do I sign up in the linky again, or just reply to this comment? Not sure how you wanted that handled. Also, if we do multiple 5ks – I’m guessing you don’t want us signing up everytime? I keep track on my weekly updates and usually post to facebook (when I remember!) after completing one. Thanks!

  4. oh I do love running. I usually go out at least three times a week, but I like to do yoga, pilates and lifting weights. But I like both treadmill and going outside. Just depends on the weather and my mood.

  5. I did 3 5k’s (walking) in February but never got around to it in March. here’s hoping I can get a few in for April!

  6. This is good!

    *cries*

I used to run. A lot. Then I messed up some part of my right leg and now it’s too painful to run. Like my calf would hurt even when I’m not exercising, my right ankle for sure hurts like hell. All this and I’m not even a quarter mile in! The good news is I tried running on a tread mill and I’m fine, only thing is I hate being stationary. When I run, I want to RUN like wind in my hair, sun in my eyes, runner’s high.

Congrats! And sorry for another rant! I promise I’m not like this. Hahaha
