Under the rule of science, there are no witch burnings allowed, no water trials or public lynchings. In return, the average law-abiding, solid citizen has little to worry about from the things that go bump in the night. Sometimes I wish I was an average citizen…
Mechanic Mercy Thompson has friends in low places-and in dark ones. And now she owes one of them a favor. Since she can shapeshift at will, she agrees to act as some extra muscle when her vampire friend Stefan goes to deliver a message to another of his kind.
But this new vampire is hardly ordinary-and neither is the demon inside of him.

First thought when finished: Yeah I have the next one sitting right here and ready to go!
What I Loved: I really love Mercy! I love her wit, no-nonsense attitude, and her ability to stick up for herself. I also love that she doesn’t always make the best decisions! I was glad that we got to glimpse into the vampire life a little more. While I don’t think they are all evil (not my sexy Stefan), I do think they have all shades of gray going on in their little den. I love how Patricia Briggs writes such strong female characters and makes you wonder just how powerful they are. The twists and turns with the Vampire/Demon were just fantastic.
What I Liked: Oh how I love the wolf pack! Seriously, I want to move in with them and shelter them after bad times. I really like how we are getting to know more and more about each of them through little snippets here and there! That is done rather brilliantly so that you don’t notice that by the end you know each of them a little bit more.
What made me go huh?: Still not loving the triangle!
Final Thought: Let me grab book 3!

*jumps up and down* I want to read this one! Oh man… I also hate the triangle, but I love both of them. I just think I should take both!! π
LOL Well you can have one—just one! Your harem is bursting at the seems already π π π
I want the next book! I am craving it, it has been so long :/
I am scared to catch up because it will be another countdown series for me LOL
This was the least fav of mine in the series, it was a bit dark. Still I love Stefan and really love Warren as well. This series just gets better and better!
Out of the first 3 this was my least favorite but it was still really good. π π
I’ve heard nothing but great things abut Mercy, but I’m not sure I knew that vampires are part of this series. Jeez, I keep missing out on important facts! Time to wake up, Missie. LOL
Oh girl—you will be having an MBB fit over Stefan! He is just your kind of vampire π
Yay! So glad you’re loving Mercy Felicia! Book 3 is my favorite of the series because it felt the most emotionally intense to me – I was beside myself when certain things happened, so I can’t wait for your review of that one! And you’re almost clear of the triangle – keep reading:):)
Book 3 made me cry—-big ugly tears! It was soooooooooooooooooo good π π (Yep I was thrilled with Book 4)
Keep reading the series!!! All the things you LOVE keep getting better and better. One or two little characters or plot points fell a little flat for me through the series BUT nothing to make the books un-enjoyable. If you’re really hating the triangle, just hang in there, it has a point in the grand scheme of things. You may not like how it ends but… I’ll stop there. Be careful when reading the backs of the upcoming books π
pst… awesome quickie, to the point review!!!!
The series is rocking my socks off π Even the triangle didn’t take away from the superb writing! I am getting the rest of the series π
