More Information:It's been a helluva week for Betsy Taylor. First, she loses her job. Then, to top things off, she's killed in a car accident. But what really bites (besides waking up in the morgue dressed in a pink suit and cheap shoes courtesy of her stepmother) is that she can't seem to stay dead. Every night she rises with a horrible craving for blood. She's not taking too well to a liquid diet.
Worst of all, her new friends have the ridiculous idea that Betsy is the prophesied vampire queen, and they want her help in overthrowing the most obnoxious, power-hungry vampire in five centuries - a badly dressed Bela Lugosi wannabe, natch. Frankly, Betsy couldn't care less about vamp politics, but they have a powerful weapon of persuasion: designer shoes. How can any self-respecting girl say now? But a collection of Ferragamos isn't the only temptation for Betsy. It's just a lot safer than the scrumptious Sinclair - a seductive bloodsucker whose sexy gaze seems as dangerous as a stake through the heart..

What I loved: Simply put: the humor! This book was full of snarky, sarcastic, and quippy banter that had me laughing out loud. Betsy, is adorable with her almost Carrie Bradshaw type of way but to me is more identifiable. Her best friend and her doc sidekick are perfect “human” friends for her to have. While they may fall under other vamps spell, they keep Betsy grounded and human. The vamps were fun too! Tina and “Sink Liar” were fantastic in their roles of getting Betsy transitioned. Sinclair also is a hunky vampire, so you know there is a little “something” going on between him and Betsy. Right now though, he annoys her and that is super fun to read. I can’t wait to read the adventures they all go through.
What I liked: The story itself was fun, light, and easy to read. It didn’t stand out quite like the characters did but did keep you engaged until the very end.
Why it got a 4: This book was a fun, light read that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys PNR. The story was light and the characters engaging. It will make you laugh and sometimes even shake your head. Betsy and crew will delight you!
