Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

Date Read: 2009

Genre: Paranormal, YA

The #1 New York Times bestseller is available for the first time in a mass market paperback edition, featuring a striking movie tie-in cover. Bella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Bella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Bella, the person Edward holds most dear. Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with bite.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer: This was a fun read! It says 3 up there but I would give it a 3.5 rating. I try to re-read these every year because of the richness of the side characters (Alice, Jasper, Esme, Emmett, ect) and the story that is told. I don’t think Stephenie Meyer is the best writer and/or she had a really crappy editor but she is a fab storyteller. My only complaint with her stories (and probably why I love The Host as there are not a lot of these type of scenes in there) are her action sequences which seem choppy and rushed. There is a reason that these stories touched so many people, you can identify with at least one person in the story. So if you are in the mood for a fun read that might remind you just how “dramatic” being a teenager can be, then these books are for you
