Nineteen-year-old Serena had loved Matt Colton all her life. But it was two years since the grief-stricken widower had ridden out to avenge his wife’s killing, and never returned. Now, with an Apache revolt brewing, Matt was needed at home. Against all caution, the headstrong Serena set out in search of him – only to find the rugged rancher badly wounded in body and soul. Yet nothing could break his strong, manly spirit and, as she nursed Matt back to health in the primitive shadows of an isolated shack, a desire stronger than anything she’d ever known raged through Serena….igniting her pent-up passion to fever pitch as his fiery kisses led her again and again to the brink of ecstasy….
Just when he was on the verge of giving up all hope – lo and behold – this radiant, blue-eyed angel of mercy had appeared to bully and bewitch him back from the brink. Matt could no more resist the sweet temptation of Serena’s tender passion than he could wipe out the violence and tragedy that had brought him to this sorry pass. Now, sworn to protect her from the perils of the wilderness trail – and from a treacherous enemy out for blood and revenge – he rode back with her across dangerous Indian territory. There, beneath blazing Arizona skies, he took her into his arms and, as the heat of her scorching caresses burned away the pain of the past, Matt knew he was ready to surrender at last to the searing love that burned so hotly in his wildly yearning heart.
Taken hostage by Indians, Angela would do anything to escape. And rancher Mall Colton seemed her only hope — even if he insisted that the only way he could save her was by making her his bride … in name only, of course. But all too quickly, the sight of Matt left Angela breathless and yearning for his searing touch. Mall Colton had given her back her life, and now all she wanted was to be held in his arms for long nights of wild and passionate loving.
The stigma of being a half-breed in 1885 Texas has made Hawk accustomed to public ridicule. Everyone in town shunned him — except for sweet and beautiful Abby McCormick who had befriended Hawk since they were children. Their tender friendship exploding in a passion neither can resist, Abby and Hawk must keep their feelings for each other a secret if they do not want their forbidden love to be discovered. Then one night, as Hawk is returning home after seeing Abby, he is ambushed, beaten and left for dead.
Four years have passed, and Hawk is back. Believing Abby’s father is responsible for the attack on him, Hawk vows revenge on the rancher who shattered his life. He returns to the Circle M ranch to claim it for his own. But, instead of the heated challenge of his nemesis, he finds a broken man and a secret that may jeopardize his love for Abby. Soon Hawk and Abby are plunged into a test of courage as past and present collide in a fury of danger and desire….

ohhh, Im dying laughing, those covers are terrible, but they remind me off the crap that used to sit on my moms shelfs when I was a kid….LOL
While not my cup of tea, I like the consistency of the artwork. Did you read all these?
I did back in the day :) I haven’t read them recently but these “cheesy” covers were what I hunted down in my teens! Which just totally called out my age LOL
If you’ll just wait while I dress my man in a loincloth and hike up my skirt to bare my thigh…
Love the retro of it all!
LOL I know right? They very much embraced the drama of it all :)
hehe…you’re killing me with the retro covers!
I had honestly forgotten that they were so “cartoon” like but I used to love these covers!
Seeing these vintage covers makes me want to scramble up and read some of my older books :)
I know, right? I did dig out my Cassie Edwards ones from last week :) I needed a little Savage love!
Check out the hair on the top cover. WOW!
Aren’t that cheesily fantastic? :) I had forgotten just how out there they could be!
Sadly no thank you
Not your style? LOL :)
Why do I feel like a dirty peeping Tom? Those are definitely some bad covers…that first one where he is grabbing her breast? Thanks for the laugh! Happy Tuesday!
Yes they are bad but they were so good back in the day! Remember when they would put the cover flaps with the man and woman :)
I was waiting for some total snarky comments! I see Jenny didn’t disappoint. LOL
Now, you MUST do some comments next time. These would be perfect for it! :D
Painted nips! FTW!
Jenny is always made of win! I don’t even try LOL
Ha! Jenny’s comment has me dying. DYING! I do have to admit though: retro month is a lot of fun!
I have a weird love for the retro covers but probably because I associate it with sneaking off and reading for summers :)
Those are fantastic! Love the hair style on the Apache Temptation guy. :-)
I figured my fellow bodice ripper friend would love them! There are some very dated hair styles up there—check out the girl’s feather cut LOL
How strange that you would post these covers today Felicia! Straddling my bare chested husband while he stands and/or kneels in a variety of bodies of water is one of my very favorite activities! How did you know?
Just remember that sand comes out better if you leave off the baby oil :) :) :)
You are so made of win!
Ooh. Good batch! I think I like the hunk in Hawk’s Woman the best. Those well-defined arm muscles are calling to me!
I am going to miss retro month when it is over! Though I am beginning to think it was the same 5 models used everywhere LOL
O.o love the covers..I love HF covers and cowboy covers..there is just something about a man in denim and cowboy boots..LOL
I admit that back in the day I was all about early American romances. I seriously wanted to fall back to the “western” times LOL
