The point of Top Off Tuesday is to show you the ones with their Tops Off! Seriously y’all hunting out Top Off Tuesday covers is one of my favorite pastimes and you should join the fun!
This week I picked Criminal Promises by Nikki Duncan and I am doing a GiveAway for the book (US only and eReader from Barnes and Noble or Amazon or Smashwords)! Â Why? The book looks freaking fantastic!
Seasoned, act-first-ask-questions-later Detective BD Harte is assigned to protect Maggie Sullivan when she’s targeted by an escaped serial killer he’d put away a year earlier. Getting up close and personal with the sensuous widow he felt an inappropriate temptation for threatens BD’s emotional distance. Attraction quickly flares into an irresistible passion, forcing him to wage a battle of self-control, while memories rip open an old wound, awakening his longing for the life he almost had…and still covets.
After one too many violent taunts shatter her sense of security, single mother Maggie Sullivan invites Detective Harte to conduct his all-night stakeouts from inside her home. When her home is again broken into and she discovers Harte’s been investigating her late husband, she struggles with her attraction to him. But the comfort she finds in his arms, his understanding and tenderness, and the passion he awakens triggers yearnings she’d long ago given up on…and still desires.
Can two wounded hearts come together as one in time… Or will the killer seeking a powerful key to nuclear weaponry ensure they never have the chance?

I am positive I have read a book with a hot, nekkid-chested man on the cover, but I can’t think of one name. I have to remedy this. I need more man chest.
Oh crap….favorite detective story…. Okay, so this isn’t technically a detective story so much as a mystery…and it isn’t bawdy, but I really loved Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon.
*Grumbles* The only thing criminal going on here is that towel.
*Grins* Couldn’t resist!
Oh, crumbs, as for a favorite detective story, I’ve always loved Kill and Tell by Linda Howard. She’s awesome.
Ooh, promises, promises. Now, hot guy, it’s time to drop that towel and fulfill those promises!
Yum yum
Btw, from smashwords, even we international peeps can get books drm free
I didn’t know that —thank you! I will totally check next time to see if the book is up there because I prefer for my giveaways to be international :) The more the merrier!
Okay detective… WHY are there words obscuring my view? Thank goodness the font is thin! LOL Plus, 2 nips! WHEE! So I guess you know the kind of TOT books I like… ;)
LOL you are a complete goof and I love that about you!
Holy Cow that is probably one of your best yet. Delightful…if only that towel were a teensy bit lower then again the mystery is what keeps you staring. I am so lame that I can’t even think of a title to enter your contesr probably because my mind is still on that guy and the green towel…..
I’ve already won a ToT so I’m not entering, but I suddenly have an urge to take a shower. LOL
I’m not entering but I had to say, “Dannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng. That’s one hot cover.”
Thanks for the great giveaway! I love this cover! Big ol’ tease ;)
STUPID TOWEL!!! WHY COULDN’T YOU FALL RIGHT AS THE SHUTTER CLICKED! He does seem to have a death grip on it though, so clearly there’s no chance of it coming down. Dammit. Thwarted again ;-)
WHOA!!! Thats an everything off Tuesday!!!
LOL- I wonder whats underneath that towel? Ok Im naughty….
I know, right? One of my rather naughtier picks :)
yummy cover, i just want to grab that towel, thank you very much… *sigh* Okay, onto your question, my top off cover or detective story…. I will say that I got The Reckoning by Alma Katsu in the mail last week, the cover is GORGEOUS! It’s not male, but it’s just pretty. But a favorite top-off cover… I know! Fever by Joan Swan, I got this one in the mail a few weeks ago and about swooned, the cover is so pretty… I may just have to make up a post, it will be meme day at Book Savvy Babe…
Book Savvy Babe
YEAH! Welcome to the Cover Fun :) :) :)
Ok so I was just over at yours and The Reckoning is amazing. I love those colors!
Fever–that should be on a billboard outside my office so I can swoon when work just gets to that point in the day where your head wants to meet the desk! LOL
I am so with you on this one! It sounds fab! Bonus: He clearly has two nipples. SCORE!
Pause for a second while I attempt to think about my favorite Top Off Tuesday cover. -thinking thinking- It’s impossible. I can’t come up with one. There are too many that rock my world. (although I have a bunch coming up in July that I want to lick)
The Kara Gillian series by Diana Rowland has a kick-ass detective. Bonus points for her getting to get frisky with a badass demon while thwarting evil. *thumbs up*
I can’t wait to see your July nips! I mean seriously I am counting down —not that long at all ;)
I need read that Diana Rowland series because I love her Zombie Series. Which also has a hot detective in it (just saying) :)
Whoa whoa whoa. This book is a DETECTIVE story? Sign me UP! I don’t think I could pick a favorite Top Off Tuesday cover (though I do like the one I chose for the end of June) so I’m going to say Will Trent (Karin Slaughter writes the series) is my favorite detective story (stories, really)
YES! Karin Slaughter I just got one her Will Trent books so I will be meeting him this summer :)
Do you have the Grant County series?
This book does look and sound really good. I already have it and just a couple of days ago, moved it higher up my TBR list so that I could read it sooner. Fabulous choice! smiles…
I am posting my review next week. I really enjoyed it and it was a total spur of the moment buy (didn’t I say I was not doing that anymore LOL)
I live in the USA. I am a follower and email subscriber. I loved watching Mike Hammer on television. Please enter me in contest. [email protected]
