The Wicked Woods by Kelly Apple

Date Read: July 2015

Genre: Naughty, Romance

Ari’s always had a thing for monsters. Big ones, small ones, and all the ones in between. They turn her on like no human can. She’d be an ordinary girl if not for that one little quirk.

Since monsters aren’t real, she’s resigned herself to loving them in her imagination.

But, as Ari is about to find out, monsters are real and now one of them has her in their grasp. Will reality be better than fantasy? Or will she walk away and lose her one chance at fulfilling her wildest dreams?

Warning: This book contains a girl who isn’t afraid of monsters and a monster who wouldn’t mind a special lady friend. You’ll never look at those all-night monster marathons on TV the same way again.

Read for Fun (Kindle/TBRJar)
Overall Rating: 4.00

Little (OK Totally) different type of read for me but it oddly worked

Read It, Rate It, File It, DONE!: The Wicked Woods by Kelly Apple reminded me a bit of a Red Shoes Diary (yes I loved those) type of erotica with a big “monster as in paranormal* twist. I may have even put the guy’s voice to David D. in my head. Don’t judge! This is straight up erotica and it won’t work for everyone.

However, Kelly had me at this….

“Look I know monsters aren’t real, okay? It’s part of what makes the fantasy so fun”

“I don’t want to be forced. I don’t want to be held down and made to do things. I just want something that’s not everyday normal.”

  1. Duuuuude. Thanks for reviewing. *slow, tentacle-y thumbs up*
I’m totally laughing over Amanda’s comment about my standalone-that’s-now-part-of-a-series book (also, I might have choked up a wee bit, because that’s such a nice thing to say), because I swore up and down Buried Bodies WAS NOT going to be part of a series. And yet I’m currently working on finishing the third (and final? Maybe?) book this weekend. (It’s NA and I know you’re not an NA fan, but those werewolves are so damn fun to write.)

  2. Right?! I love Kelly but I was so nervous about reading this book because what if I didn’t like it? It certainly isn’t my normal type of read but I have to say I couldn’t put it down. I’m glad that I bought the rest of the series as they came out! So many types of monsters to erm fall in love with?
