More Information:
A risk worth taking…No one would ever accuse Jace Berisha of having an easy life—considering her husband…you know…killed her. But that was then! Now she fights for mighty Viking gods with the spectacular and vicious Crows. But things are turning very bad, very quickly because a vengeful, ancient goddess has come into the world with just one thing on her mind—ending it. And the only way they can hope to stop her is if the Crows join forces with their one-time enemies, the Protectors. A Viking Clan created to do nothing but kill every Crow they see. Thankfully, Protector Ski Eriksen is a peace loving kind of guy. Because the woman he is desperately trying to get close to is the beautiful and not-very-chatty Jace. Battling Nordic clans? Unkillable goddesses? Jace’s mean-spirited dog? None of these things would ever get in the way of a true Viking!

NOTE: Despite my long time taking to listen to The Undoing–it is probably in my top 5 of the year so far!
First Thought when Finished: The Undoing was funny, action-packed, sassy, and romantic! In other words, Classic Shelly L!
Quick Thoughts: One of the best things I love about Shelly is her ability to write a Paranormal Romance that reads a bit more like an Urban Fantasy. She gets the grit and massive character scale balanced just right with the main couple in the story. She doesn’t let the side characters over shadow the couple and that takes some pretty darn good balancing skills. In this case, Ski and Jace were the focus. I loved their romance. It was perfect for them since they are both a little unconventional. It was sweet in a weird way and just the right pace. I loved seeing The Crows and the new guys were an awesome addition (specifically Bear). I look forward to the next story! I don’t even care who the couple is as long as we can have more of Jace’s (view spoiler)!
Audio Thoughts:
Narrated By Johanna Parker / Length: 12 hrs and 9 mins
I love me some Johanna Parker. She manages to make large casts seem like no problem at all and in this case that included men/women/accents/dogs! She really does a great job with this and pretty much hits it out of the park. I would recommend this on audio!

I love Shelly Laurenston books, though I haven’t listening to any in audio format.
It’s been *years* since I read Shelly Laurenston. I really like her style though. And I’m really curious about this series. I’m thinking I’ll check it out in audio! I swear I’ve become an audio-junkie, Felicia. This time last year, I’d only listened to 4 (maybe) audiobooks! Great review – glad you got it done. 🙂
I so loved this book. It was so much fun. I just love all the characters. I also love how the pets are involved. I still need to finish the Pride series. I still have two books left in it.
I really, really enjoyed this too. This series is my first Shelly L. The characters snag me in and you just have to love them with all their craziness.
I like his arms very much. 🙂 I’d probably like it since it leans more toward UF.
I squee whenever I see someone love this author as I do. This is on my tops list for the year too!
YESS!! The Undoing is easily a top read of mine for this year. I seriously can’t wait to see whose book is next.
I’ve never read anything by this author and admit I’m intrigued when you say it reads like a UF with romance. That’s often tough to balance but it’s also my preference. I love the action.
Great review!
