Review: The Creed Legacy by Linda Lael Miller

Posted July 6, 2011 by Felicia S in Uncategorized / 11 Comments

From Goodreads: Rough-and-tumble rodeo cowboy Brody Creed likes life on the move. Until a chance encounter with his long-estranged twin brother brings him “home” for the first time in years. Suddenly Brody is in Creed territory—at thirty-three, he’s a restless bad boy among family with deep ties to the land and each other. And a secret past haunts him as he tries to make plans for his future.

Carolyn Simmons is looking for Mr. Right in Lonesome Bend, as the ticktock of her biological clock gets ever louder. Then she falls for gorgeous Brody Creed, the opposite of everything she wants. Until lassoing his wild heart becomes everything both of them need.

NOTE: This is third in the trilogy of the Creeds and by far my favorite book in the series. I have had a strong pull to Brody since the beginning (yep he was a book boyfriend) and was excited when his story did not let me down!

What I Loved: This whole series to me has been about regular folks coming together even though neither is really sure about going forward. For Brody and Carolyn it is even more heartbreaking because of their individual histories. It doesn’t help that they have a shared history that ended on less than great circumstances. This whole story pulled at my heart strings not only because of their love story but seeing the whole town again.

What I Liked: I loved the side stories of catching up with Connor and Tricia (especially Connor’s overprotective side), meeting new characters, and watching the other love stories unfold. It was like visiting a town you love and catching up with everyone.

Complaints: None

Why I Gave it a 4.25: This book did what romances are supposed to do: pulled at the heartstrings and made you root for the characters!

Ok so I always swooned for Sonny Gilstrap (Keifer Sutherland) in the movie A Cowboy Way. He's my favorite definitely. Course I've read a few others of the Linda Lael Miller cowboy books and some of those were such hotties as well.tlabunski (at) gmail [dot] com

Favorite fictional cowboy, it doesn't matter as long as he is played by Sam Elliott. Now there's a man's cowboy! Yeehaw!I'm a follower on GFC-Lisa Richards(___/)(='.'=) (")_(")alterlisa AT yahoo DOT com

I don't really watch alot of cowboy movies. The only person I can think of is Kevin Costner. Please enter me in contest. I would love to read this book.

What a fun romance! Hmmm, my favorite cowboy. I don't have a literary one so I'll pick movies. Some of the classics like Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid, Sam Elliot, Clint Eastwood, and Daniel Craig is looking good in the upcoming Cowboys and Aliens! ~Alyssa Teens Read and Writedemonicattractions(at)gmail(dot)com

I love knowing it was your favorite in the series so far. Give me a lot to look forward to. And isn't that trailer the best! I'm definitely rooting for Brody. I mean, I love his wicked ways, but I also want to see him in love.
