From Goodreads: Anna never knew werewolves existed, until the night she survived a violent attack… and became one herself. After three years at the bottom of the pack, she’d learned to keep her head down and never, ever trust dominant males. Then Charles Cornick, the enforcer- and son- of the leader of the North American werewolves, came into her life.
Charles insists that not only is Anna his mate, but she is also a rare and valued Omega wolf. And it is Anna’s inner strength and calming presence that will prove invaluable as she and Charles go on the hunt in search of a rogue werewolf- a creature bound in magic so dark that it could threaten all of the pack.

First Thought When Finished: Charles has to be one of the most perfect Alpha men I have read!
What I Loved: Charles! Charles! Charles! He was such a wonderful Alpha Male with the combo of toughness and giving. Each time he gave Anna a choice on whether to be with him or not, my heart melted. I also loved Anna! She has a lot of healing to do but she faced things head on with only a little trepidation. She was very tough indeed. I also loved Bran and Samuel though I am sure those that have read the Mercy series know more about them. (I haven’t read that series). I really loved Walter too! I could go on about the story but I don’t want to give anything away.
What I Liked: Patricia made me feel like I was there with Charles and Anna. Her descriptive storytelling hooked me and kept me mesmerized till the end.
Audio Review: Holter Graham did a really good job though it took me a bit to “warm up” to his audio. Towards the end though, it is his voice as Charles that made me love this audiobook.
Final Thought: Since I am probably the last person in the world to read a Patricia Briggs book—I don’t imagine there is much I can say. Other than, I love that this is a UF about a couple (kind of like Bones and Cat) which means there is a REAL romance. I love that!

hmm, I have a credit on audible. I may have to consider this one. I read book 1 of the Mercy series and enjoyed it fine, but never read the rest of them…. smiles!
LOL I think this one is more romance and the other is more UF. I mean I guess they both are UF but one is sweeter? I don't know that is how it was described to me LOL I haven't read Mercy so I totally could be off base π
I have heard this one has a touch more romance than the Mercy series. I didn't think this one was slow but it did assume you knew a little bit about the werewolf world (instead of spelling it out–if that makes sense?)
I would love to see a full book about Bran! He is so complicated π
He was the perfect combo of male! I need to find a guy like that π
I haven't read the Mercy—I started with this one because someone suggested I would like it better (no love triangle). They said once I liked her writing then to read the Mercy series LOL
She did an AWESOME job on the wolf dynamics! I was amazed how they just wove into the story so freaking well.
I will now join in on the you need to read Patricia Briggs train π
Charles just killed me, he was so sweet to her. I really melted.
I heard there is a novella that I need to get. So I will be rectifying that this weekend :0)
I think I am going to want to know more about daddy dearest! I just see that being a big question in my future π
This one was just so good! I really enjoyed the wolf world that she has created!
I picked up the first Mercy one! π π π
I am going to get the Mercy series—heard I need to read some of them before the next one in this series.
Ohhh, I'm so curious about this one. I've been so unsure if I should read it or not, but you're so teasing! LOL. I've only read one of her book, (Moon Called? I think it's called. I probably fail though!) and really loved it. Maybe it's time to try this one? Or just… finish the other series. Hahah. Great review!
I love the Mercy series, but it did me a while to get use to her writing style and it was a bit slow compared to the other writers of this genre. I like that this series is a bit different and centers around the couple. I think I'll give it a try. Glad you enjoyed it. π
I seriously love the Alpha and Omega series. The new one is on my list to read in the next couple of week! I would actually like to see a novella about Bran one day!
So glad you love it. I love Charles so much. So freaking alpha + so sensitive to his Omega. Patricia is a magical storyteller. I have 2 challenge books I want/need/have to finish then I get to pick up Fair Game. I can't wait to hang out with them a little more.
And see, I prefer the Mercy Thompson series over this one. I think it was the way it was told and kind of the story as well. It's been awhile since I've read it. If you haven't read Mercy Thompson, I recommend it. Mercy is just such an amazing female lead. LOVE HER! Plus, Briggs has this was with her story and characters that just makes you believe everything she is telling you. Plus…Adam…OMGosh YUM YUM! And he's totally MINE!
Charles is definitely a great Alpha. I don't know what it is about wolf dynamics but I love how Briggs brought in real wolf pack behavior into her story (without making it weird). And I love how Charles came in and kicked serious ass on Anna's behalf!
I've heard so many amazing things about Patrician Briggs!!!!! I need to read SOMETHING by her!!!
I love this series, it's proper romance and Charles's relationship with his wolf is different to most werewolf ideas but it works so well. I think Bran is starting to feature more in the later Mercy books but this story gave a lot more of his history which was cool 'cos he's a bit of a mystery.
I need to reread this one. I think you should also read "On the Prowl". That is where I was first introduced to these characters. Fell in love with their story immediately! I need to catch up with this series!! BTW, yes… you need to read the Mercy series too. Again… another one I need to catch up on. π
Woo hoo! So glad you loved this one, I adore Charles and Anna! And Bran. I wish we'd get a story about Bran, he's all sorts of dark and complex and I love him. The Mercy series is great as well, but I like that this one just has a touch more romance in it since their relationship is more of a focal point than Mercy's with Adam/Sam in her books.
Felicia, I have yet to read this series but I have read all the Mercy Thompson and they are lots of fun. Samuel and Bran are my favorites, I especially love that Samuel is a white wolf. I need to read this series soon. So glad you loved it!
This was your first!?! Omg! You must read the Mercy books too. I did like this one but Mercy is freaking cool
Glad that you loved it! It really is a great author, both series are keepers for me.
