First Thought when Finished: The Goodbye Witch by Heather Blake was really good! I had a slight issue with the ending of the case but otherwise this was a delightful listen!
Story Thoughts: Overall I really enjoyed The Goodbye Witch and was excited to get more of Starla’s back story. The case was twisty–is he or isn’t he alive? Is he or isn’t he stalking her? If he is either of those two, how is he doing it? I think Heather Blake is excellent at making a cozy mystery with a good mix of procedure and amateur sleuthing. She lets the paranormal play into the case instead of solving the case! My only complaint was with the ending and even then that didn’t take away from the overall enjoyment of the story.
Character Thoughts: The Wishcraft series has a group of really great characters. I was happy that the relationship story of Darcy and Nick moved forward. I was all sappy about the side story of Mrs. P. I loved Aunt Ve and Harper getting into the mix. The characters are the kind of people I would like to hang out with in real life! They make you want to be part of their world!
Audio Thoughts:
Narrated By Coleen Marlo / Length: 9 hrs and 12 mins
Coleen did an excellent with the narration once again. She is a good fit for this series: pacing, emotion, and attitude are spot on. I will be continuing this series on audio.
Final Thought: Can’t wait for the next one!

I need to look this series up – I’m a new convert to cozy mysteries, but I think having that paranormal aspect is going to be a lot of fun. Looking for it on audio 🙂
Oh, no, Kyle! I’ve only read the first two books in this series. I’m trying to go in order. Curious about the ending…
I hadn’t previously heard of this series but it certainly sounds like it’s right up my alley! Thanks for the great review. I’m going to have to add the first in the series to my library wishlist.
I had lots of fun with this one too. I’m assuming your issue was with the individual that was guilty and not the new familiar? I thought the new familiar was pretty cute and it was a nice way to keep an interesting character around.
My issue was with the guilty party and the fact that they were kind of let go with very little consequences. I loved the new familiar! I would have been upset had that NOT happened LOL
This sounds good, I am curious about the issue with the ending..but added to my list.
Dammit. Now I need to add another book to my wishlist. Thanks for that.
Your welcome LOL Actually these are really good 🙂
I read the first book in this series and liked it well enough but havent’ had the chance to continue. I am glad you are still enjoying this series.
I actually read these out of order (2, 1, 3, 4) LOL They are all pretty much like the first one 🙂
I think cozy m and me would mix well on audio
Actually that is exactly how you should tackle cozies. I think you would enjoy them on audio!
How funny, I was just looking at this audiobook on audibles just today wondering if it and the series was any good. 🙂
It is a fun series. It is paranormal and mystery and fun—what could be wrong with that? 🙂
Oh this sounds like my kind of cozy. I love it when the author makes characters you want to become friends! Gonna have to check this one out!
Those are my favorite cozies. I like when I want to move to the town 🙂
Yeah! So glad you enjoyed this one too! I do think the cover is very strange compared to the paperbacks though.
I will have to look up the cover for the paperback. I didn’t realize they were different!
