Being the first female werecat enforcer isn't easy. Scars accumulate, but I'm stronger in so many ways.

As for my personal life? It's complicated. Choices worth making always are. Ever since my brother's death and my father's impeachment, it's all I can do to prevent more blood from spilling. Now our Pride is under attack by a flight of vicious thunderbirds. And making peace with our new enemies may be the only way to get the best of our old foe.

With the body count rising and treachery everywhere, my instincts tell me to look before I leap. But sometimes a leap of faith is the only real option...

NOTE: This review will contain spoilers if you haven’t read up to book 4 in the series. Also Shift for me (and Alpha to) can be broken down into what I Loved and what I Didn’t Like—there really was no in-between for me.

What I Loved: Things are getting hot in here! Seriously the action, pacing, and kick *ssness have been turned up a notch. We have spent the last 4 books getting to know all these beloved characters and this book just pulled the rug out from under us. I was a sobbing mess in a couple of different areas. I seriously was holding on for dear life during all the interactions with the Thunderbirds. Every emotion that a person can feel was brilliantly displayed in Shift and I couldn’t quit listening!

What I Did Not Like: I can’t stand triangles. They usually just don’t do anything for me. In this case, I think it was an unnecessary level of drama. Plus, when Faythe was dealing with either Marc or Jace she reminded me too much of the character she was in book 1 (which I did not like at all). Overall, it was only a little bit of a distraction in Shift but a whole different story for Alpha.

I have to go back and see which book I left at because I read at least 1 and 2 so long ago! I read them when they first came out and I don't even think I have them on my shelves anymore. Hm… I think I'll check out the 3rd to see if anything looks familiar! LOL

I am still pushing through the first book, yes there are some things I like but for the most part I am getting a little annoyed with her attitude. πŸ™‚ I'm so glad you enjoyed the whole series I will keep going. I don't think Jaime would be friends with me otherwise since Rachel Vincent is her favorite. Loved the review, thanks for not giving away too many spoilers. I know it is hard sometimes leaving the juicy parts out.See you tomorrow!Michelle (O'Boyled Books)

Yeah, from the few reviews I've read on the first book, I don't have the best impression of Faythe, but I can't resist reads that pull at all of your emotions, so I'll have to give it a try, especially since you are recommending it.

This is one of my favorite series! LOVE it! I had two of my friends and my mom read them and they are big fans too! One of my friends liked it so much, that she ended up buying her own set πŸ™‚

So glad you enjoyed this series overall Felicia! I love how Rachel isn't afraid to just abuse her characters before she makes everything right, you can't help but get sucked in. And Calvin Malone? I don't think I've ever hated anyone as much as I hated him:)
