Welcome to Harborsmouth, where monsters walk the streetsunseen by humans…except those with second sight, like Ivy Granger.

Some things are best left unseen...

Ivy Granger's second sight is finally giving her life purpose. Ivy and her best friend Jinx may not be raking in the dough, but their psychic detective agency pays the bills—most of the time. Their only worry is the boredom of a slow day and the occasional crazy client—until a demon walks through their door.

Demons are never a good sign...

A demon attorney representing the water fae? Stranger things have happened. And things are about to get very, very strange as a bloodthirsty nightmare hunts the city of Harborsmouth.

There's blood in the water...

Kelpies have a reputation for eating humans. Unfortunately, Kelpies are the clients. When an Unseelie faerie this evil stalks the waterways of your city, you have to make hard choices.

The lesser of two evils...

First Thoughts when Finished: Other than a few over description moments in the first 1/3 of Shadow Sight, this ended up being a super fun UF Mystery read. I will be getting the rest of the series.

Quick Thoughts: I love when I find a series (or more accurately my friends did) that combines my love of mysteries and urban fantasy. Shadow Sight does so really well. There is also a kick-ass group of characters (led by Ivy) that made the ride super fun. This is UF too so there was some world building to be done, a big part of the first part of the story is focused on that. Trust me when I say stick with it, after the world is built there is action, snark, fun, and the case is darn solid! I highly recommend this and can’t wait to continue on.

Audio Thoughts:

Narrated by: Traci Odom /Length: 7 hrs and 34 mins

This is my first audiobook narrated by Traci but it won’t be my last. She did a darn good job. I have another one (by Deanna Chase) on my TBR so I just bumped that one up. I was impressed with her delivery of the story.

  1. I’ve really enjoyed this series. I really wish Traci Odom narrated all of the books. I’m not sure why the switch in narrators, but I do love the series, so I’ve kept up with it even though I don’t enjoy the narration as much. I’m through book 3 and I’ve listened to the novellas. I just love Ivy and Jinx to pieces. Great review.

  2. I haven’t listened to Tracy Odom narrate yet, but I took a listen on Audible, and I definitely like her style. Might have to give this series (or the Deanna Chase series, since it’s set in New Orleans) a listen!

  3. I’ve been looking at this series. I want to read or listen to it. I haven’t decided which way to go with this one. I suppose it depends on what I can get from the library since I start there. If I love it, then I buy it. Anne

    • That is my way normally. I think I picked this one up when it was free on Amazon and added the narration for a couple of bucks. I start a lot of series in the library—it is a great starting place. No commitment.
