Plum Orchard, Georgia, is about to get even juicier…

Notorious mean girl Dixie Davis is back in town and it's payback time. Literally. Dixie is flat broke and her best—make that only—friend, Landon, is throwing her a lifeline from the Great Beyond. Dixie stands to inherit his business…if she meets a few conditions:

She's got to live in Landon's mansion.

With her gorgeous ex-fiancé, Caine Donovan.

Who could also inherit the business.

Which is a phone sex empire.

Wait, what?

Landon's will lays it out: whoever gets the most new clients becomes the owner of Call Girls. Dixie has always been in it to win it, especially when it comes to Caine, who's made it clear he's not going down easy. (Oh, mercy.) Can Dixie really talk dirty and prove that she's cleaned up her act? Game on!

Original Review

First Thought when Finished: Talk Dirty to Me by Dakota Cassidy made me cry, laugh, and cheer! It was really enjoyable!

Story Thoughts: This was such a unique setting for a contemporary romance but it really worked. I thought the phone sex setting was perfect way for these two characters to work things out. Plus, it lead to some downright hilarious moments. I could just imagine how much I would have blushed being in a room while those ladies were working. I know that I laughed out loud several times while reading. However, this also packed an emotional punch! One I didn’t see coming and that made it that much sweeter!

Character Thoughts:I should start with Dixie or Caine but to me Landon was the heart of the story. It is one of those times when a 3rd person was just as significant to the love story as the two people involved in the relationship. Without Landon, neither Dixie or Caine would have gotten out of their own way. Dixie was a wonderful example of mean girl gone good and Caine was still sporting a bruised ego but he was “oh-so-hot” doing it. These 3 characters played brilliantly off of each other. I also enjoyed the whole cast of characters and can’t wait to revisit Plum Orchard.

Final Thoughts: I just adored this book!

Updated with Audio Thoughts on the ReListen

NOTE: I originally read this story back in March 2014 but in September 2014 received the audiobook for review. My original review stands (even on reread/listen). Still gosh darn cried at the end! However I thought I would add audio notes since I think Scarlet did an excellent job!

Audio Thoughts:

Narrated By Scarlet Chase / Length: 11 hrs

I really thought Scarlet sounded like the Dixie I had in my head: a bit southern, a bit mean girl, a bit down on her luck. What I was surprised about was how well she did Caine (I mean he does impersonations and she mostly got those right too). This was a tricky book to narrate but I think Scarlet did a really great job! I am now going to see what else she has narrated because I bet she would do a heck of a job with cozy mysteries!

I have this one to review on audio and will be getting to it soon, so it’s good to hear that it is good in audio. I remember your review of the book and that is why I picked it up for audio review. Not sure if I am keen on it being one that will make me cry though..I hate that..lol. I just finished one that I haven’t reviewed yet called To Scotland With Love by Patience Griffin and it was so good and so sad at the same time. Loved it on audio. 🙂

It was a happy/sad cry. I was just all misty but you will be smiling through the tears. I was surprised I liked Scarlet as much as I did but she rocked it!
