Overall Rating: 1.00
Story Rating: 1.00
Character Rating: 1.00

Audio Rating: —– (didn’t listen to enough on audio so not rating)

First Thought when Finished: The Shadows by J.R. Ward will be loved by many but just not me. To be fair, the last 3 books have been rated 3, 2, 3 (with both 3’s being barely) so it is fair to say that I should probably break up with the series (which is sad because 13 books investment is no small thing).

First Thought when Finished: The last quarter of The King by J.R. Ward bumped the rating from a 3.00 to a 3.50, it was a very good way to end that story.

Lover Avenged by J.R. Ward: Oh this is my favorite book for the series. I love the arc that both of these characters go through. I love the progression of the storyline for the brotherhood in general. I love that we finally see Wrath embrace his place as King. I love Xhex/John kind of getting on equal ground though through very sad ways. I love that Tohr is back and I am absolutely loving Lassiter (hope he gets his own book–that Angel is just FUN-NY)! I even think Lash (though still not loving the Lesser stories in the books) makes a great bad guy! Really the only downside to this series is that I have to wait till March? for the next one to come out 🙂 Author Website: http://www.jrward.com/

Lover Enshrined by J.R. Ward: The story of Cormia/Phury was very touching as it dealt with addiction, tradition, change, and transition. I felt this book touched on the overlying theme of the series which is how do we move forward when events from the past, traditions, noncommunications often get in the way. Some parts of the story lagged for me (aka the Lash sections) but overall it was very well told.    Author Website: http://www.jrward.com/
