The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larson What I loved:  The mystery/thriller part of this book was fascinating, engaging, and quite a ride. I had a hard time figuring out who did it and why. When I found out, it was a great journey to the end, which is far away at that point in the book. What I liked:  Most of the characters were really well thought out.  Each one flushed out just enough by the author that you could understand their motivations and personalities.  You weren’t sitting there at any point going “no way he/she would have done that”.  Some of the characters are quite shocking though, so be prepared for that. What I thought was “sorta ok”: The financial part of the story was not all that thrilling, at least from my point of view.  It was kind of like 2 books in one, like it was hard to decide which one the author really wanted to write.  I could have done without “LS” rape scene, it was a little too graphic for me but it was a significant reason she does a lot of things. What I didn’t like:  Nothing really.  Thought the beginning […]

Read for Fun (Kindle) Overall Rating: 4.50 Story Rating: 4.50 Character Rating: 4.50 Shades of Midnight by Lara Adrian: This has to be my 2nd favorite book in the series. I really loved Kade which surprised me because before this he really didn’t grab my attention. Granted he was a late character introduction into the series but his friend Brock stood out more (BTW his book will be coming out in Fall 2010 I found out). So it was a pleasant surprise that I was able to get into this book almost from the beginning. Without giving anything away this book was set in Alaska, which after being able to visit that beautiful state was much more vivid to me in the book. She did a great job of flushing out the characters and having a back story that seemed to really fit. She was able to weave in the on-going Ancient and Dragos storyline without letting it take over the book. I was a little disappointed that the rest of the guys were in it so little and that the rest of the breedmates were not in it at all. Overall this was a very enjoyable read! Great escapism […]

Ashes of Midnight by Lara Adrian: Ok I have to say I was a little disappointed that this was not about one of the warriors though he is almost one of them. I do like how the story is progressing with Dragos and the Ancient. I like how all the characters are important to the progression of the story and how you get little updates as they go along. I really am looking forward to the next book! Author Website: http://www.laraadrian.com

Kiss of Crimson by Lara Adrian: This book was about Dante. He is one of my favorite characters and I really like Tess. The only thing that made this book less than 5 stars was the whole Vet Clinic going under subplot. I just didn’t click with that but the rest was fantastic. Midnight Rising by Lara Adrian: This book was about Rio, probably the one character I was wondering how she was going to make him whole again. It was a very good journey to watch him work his was back to the Order and then work his heart back to loving. It was a very moving story. Author Website: http://www.laraadrian.com
