Red-Headed Stepchild by Jaye Wells What I Loved: Sabina Kane was a complicated heroine who was flawed yet very likable. Grim was the best demon sidekick hairless cat a gal could ask for. The whole cast of characters were very enjoyable to read. What I Liked: I did not know what to expect when I picked up this book. I had never heard of Jaye Wells but the topic of Mages (Mancies), Vampires, and Faeries were something I like to read about. Jaye does a wonderful job of introducing Sabina from the get-go with an action sequence that shows you this girl is all business. From there, you are thrown into a world (our world) where other creatures exist but we don’t know it. On top of that, these beings are barely on speaking terms with each other.
