Quick Thoughts: I am becoming a huge fan of Jade (I bet you thought I would start with the standard Gin crew). She is such a complex character and this story really brought her to the forefront.

For #JIAM16 I am going to spotlight some of my favorite narrators. I plan on doing one a day until the end of June. I hope you will give them a listen and if you have favorite narrators use this month to thank them for bringing such rich layers to stories we love! About Lauren Fortgang lives in New York City where she currently works as an actor and voiceover artist.  Born in DE, she alternated between the metropolis of Wilmington and  a rural upbringing in a variety of northern California towns.  She had early training at A.C.T.’s Young Conservatory and is a graduate of Fordham University: College at Lincoln Center, where she majored in theater. Her curiosity for finding new niches in the industry has afforded her a broad career spectrum, both in and out of the spotlight as actor, singer, spokesperson  audiobook narrator, podcaster, and even costume designer.   Television credits include roles on Law and Order (NBC), Law and Order: SVU (NBC), and Important Things with Demetri Martin (Comedy Central). Recent theatrical endeavors include Creation Production Company productions of Escape (LaMama E.T.C. – 50th anniversary season) and Laughing Pictures (The Flea).  Lauren has worked – in a variety of capacities – with a delightful smattering of companies headed by Fordham alumni and professors, and hopes to continue collaborating […]

First Thought when Finished: Bitter Bite was a Finn-filled story so it goes down as one of my favorites in the series. I LOVE me some FINN!

Lauren Fortgang

Lauren is in my top 5 narrators of all time! She has never disappointed me in a narration. She has great pacing, character adaptability, and (for lack of a better word) swagger to bring stories to life. I have listened to her narrate Capers, YA, Romance, and of course UF! Two of my favorite series that she narrates (please don’t fall over dead at the fact that one of them is YA–I’m shocked too) is Elemental Assassin by Jennifer Estep and Grisha by Leigh Bardugo . However, I am also going to shout out to the The Kowalski Family by Shannon Stacey. If you don’t listen to them on audio, you will be missing out. To top off all of her amazing narration, she is great with her fans too. You need to follow her on twitter. She is funny, smart, and not afraid to speak her mind. I just adore her and she has a fangirl for life!
