NOTE: These “reviews” are as simple as it gets but I am reading 25 Novellas for Christmas this year. This is my way of sharing these with you. Most of them were free on Amazon (with a few exceptions) in 2016. Read for Fun (Kindle Freebie) Overall Rating: 3.50 Story Rating: 3.50 Character Rating: 3.50 Quick Thoughts: This was a super quick read but Tessa and Jasper were such a good match that it didn’t feel rushed. The only thing I wanted more was a little more depth to the resolution. However for a Christmas Novella it really it hit the spot. Part of 25 Novellas for Christmas 2016 Listened to for Fun! Overall Rating 5.00 Audio Rating 5.00 Story Rating 5.00 Note: A Christmas Carol has forever been one of my favorite Christmas stories. I make a point to read it or listen to it every year. I also watch several different versions and one of my favorites is the version Patrick Stewart was in a few years ago on TNT. So when I heard he read a version for audiobook—I had to get it! This is not so much a review but a celebration of one […]

NOTE: These “reviews” are as simple as it gets (and mostly for tracking purposes)! They will have a rating, first thought, narrator thought (quick), and will officially be filed 🙂  Listened for Fun (Audible) Overall Rating: 4.00 Story Rating: 3.75 Character Rating: 4.25 Audio Rating: 4.00 (not part of the overall rating) First Thought when Finished: The Harvesting is a story that grew on me over the course of the story and I am very curious as to where it is heading! Quick Thoughts: This was a Dewey’s Read-a-Thon listen and I was scared in the beginning that I had selected wrong. I didn’t particular like the characters and quite frankly was hoping some of them would die (like major ones). However as the story progressed and the “world” got worse–the writing really hooked me. I can’t say that I love any of the characters but they are fitting for what is going on. This book took 3 turns that I didn’t expect and the end had me wondering where exactly they were going now. I will continue the series because I just have to know! Audio Thoughts Narrated By Kristin James / Length: 7 hrs and 7 mins I […]

Review: Words cannot express how much I LOVED Jane Austen Cover to Cover by Margaret C. Sullivan. If you are a Jane Austen fan there is plenty of history in this about the covers, printings, and tidbits about Jane. If you are a cover fan, you will love the 100s of ways these covers have been imagined (both English and non-English covers). This went on my Jane Austen shelf and I saw several covers I would love to get my hands on! This is a MUST for any Austenite!

A Light in the Attic by Shel Silverstein: I love this book of poems! It is one of my favorites from when I was a child. I recommend this to the young and old alike if you like to smile. Shel had a way of making everything be funny and relative to everyday life. Some of my favorites from this one: Monsters I’ve Met, Rock n Roll Band, The Meehoo with an Exactlywatt, Cloony the Clown, Union for Children’s Rights, and Kidnapped.
