Review: Devil Without a Cause by Terri Garey (Rating 4.5 Wine Glasses)

From Goodreads: Idle hands are the devil’s workshop
Temptation and seduction are the tricks of the Devil’s trade, and when offered the chance to regain his wings by playing guardian angel, he’s hell-bent on doing things his way . . .

Faith McFarland is in need of a miracle. So desperate to save her sick child, she’s willing to make a deal with the Devil: steal a ring worn by Finn Payne, the bad-boy rockstar who long ago sold his soul for rock ‘n roll. Temptation and seduction become necessary evils, yet Faith’s salvation means Finn’s damnation . . . because the ring is all that stands between him and Hell. Falling in love was never part of the bargain, but now that they’ve tasted heaven in each other’s arms, can they convince the Devil to give up his due?

NOTE: I totally picked up Devil Without a Cause on a whim. I have never read anything by Terri Garey before but believe me that will change. This book was wicked smart, funny, and a tad bit smexy!

What I Loved: Really I could just write the “whole freaking story rocked” because it really did. This is one of those stories filled with fun times, hard choices, little surprises, and one devil of a dilemma. I don’t want to give away the story but I was really moved that both Finn and Faith had very big things to lose if they didn’t each keep their bargain with the devil. However, since it was impossible for each of them too, then the journey was very much heart tugging at times. I loved the interactions between Gabriel and Sammy, they were my favorite moments in the book. I also had to grin with Sammy got a “little” surprise towards the end. The mixing of humor and heart-string pulling was done really well and kept me engaged from beginning to end.

What I Liked: Finn’s staff was great! You just really have to read the last 2 chapters to understand how awesome they really were. There was a moment that I was literally cheering.

Complaints: Not a one!

Why I gave it a 4.5: Highly entertaining read with a handsome devil and a ring of chaos. How could you go wrong?

I wasn't sure if I'd like this but you just changed my mind. Athenna also just picked this book up on a whim (without getting me one!) and I'll make sure to let her know her money was well spent. Stephanie πŸ™‚

Love that cover:) It just makes me happy when I pick up a book not really knowing what to expect and it blows me away and makes me want to read everything else the author has ever written:) Definitely going to be trying this one, thanks Felicia!

YAY! This review makes me happy because I was hoping the story would be as HOT as the cover. But really, with the devil what can you expect? And I never expected to hear praise about a staff. Now I'm super curious about what is going on with that.
