These are my recommended reads from 2013!  These are all the books that got a 5 from me.  I have read 209 books this year and only 17 of those books ranked a 5 for me 🙂

Here are the books that either tickled my funny bone, touched my emotional core, or fit my mood so perfectly that I couldn’t help but fall in love with the story!

2013 Recommended Reads

Things you could gather from this list:

  • I am a total series reader
  • I tend to read a little bit of everything
  • Even within the same genre (PNR), I tend to read a little dark/little light
  • I am a fan of books with kick ass leading ladies
  • Most of my 5’s were audiobooks!

What have been your favorite reads this year?

Except for Getting Rowdy (which I didn’t like b/c the hero thought with his fists first…don’t know. It just annoyed me), I’m on board with every single one of these!

And yay for Faith Hunter’s series, right?!? Love Jane, love Beast. Hate Rick (he makes an appearance in Black Arts, the upcoming release and I really wanted to just kick him in the nuts). I keep hoping Jane and Beast will go for Bruiser!

I have quite a few to add to my TBL. I can see we totally agree on Historicals 🙂
I kept looking at Lori Foster’s book, but I never followed through, I’ll make it a point to try her books on 2014.
Yay! Diana Rownland’s little zombie made to the list!
Thanks! You just made my gold to trim my audiobook spending a lot harder..LOL

I love Gin! I can’t wait to read Spider (I have the ARC, just haven’t gotten to it yet.) The main reason I’m looking forward to it is I want more Fletcher. *sigh*

You have a couple of others on your list that I love too. And even more that are on my TBR list. I looked at my 5* reviews and have way too many this year to list them all. Maybe if I went by must read series? That could narrow it down a little. LOL! I did notice that I got pickier as the year went on. I’ll have to compare next year’s ratings and see where I am. 😉

      I had a bajillion 4.75’s but 5’s I am always greedy with LOL 🙂

I want Fletcher’s story too. I love him when Gin flashes back to her time with him. Also I have to know more about the man who could make Finn LOL

Must Read series would be good! I swore this year I was going to give more 5’s….I gave less LOL

In no particular order my “stand outs” of the 343 read so far in 2013 are:

Getty Rowdy by Lori Foster, (cannot wait until Dash and Cannon’s stories come out as loving this series)!

Black Arts (netgalley ARC) Jane Yellowrock #7 ) by Faith Hunter, oh man is Janie getting more enjoyable as a well rounded character!

Outpost-Razorland #2 by Ann Aguirre, my appetite is whetted for the final book in trilogy Horde!

Fall Of Night-Morganville Vampires #14 by Rachel Caine, so sad the series is ending with next book but Claire Danvers still is one of my favorite “geek girl” heroines!

Hot Blooded, Full Blooded and Cold Blooded by Amanda Carlson Books 1-3 of Jessica McClain series, I love me some werewolves and not since Faythe Saunders have I enjoyed an alpha female character more

The Christmas He Loved Her-Bad Boys Of Crystal Lake 2 by Juliana Stone, Thanks to Netgalley again have found out that there are still contemporary romance authors out there who can “wow” me. This was a very heartbreaking but also heartwarming love story!

Scorched-Scorched #1 by Mari Mancusi, one of my new series favorites in Fantasy reading as always have been totally head over heels in love with Dragons and since read Eragon few years back have not enjoyed being swept away by the Dragon and it’s rider into adventure!

Rhiannon Frater’s As The World Dies trilogy The First Days, Fighting To Survive and Siege finally “hooked” me on the Zombie story genre and wish would have gotten them off my TBR shelf sooner!

Tangle of Need-PSY Changeling #11 by Nalini Singh took my breath with the story of Adria and Riaz, it was painful but brilliantly sweet as well!

Doubletake-Cal Leandros #7 and Slashback-Cal Leandros #8 by Rob Thurman fulfilled my thirst for action and the snark that only Cal can pull off book after book without making me want to hit him!

I of course dabbled in many more and some of my best reads were Historical Romances from a multitude of authors that once again confirmed to me that I am not someone who could have ever made it in the restrictive society that these books represent for many reasons not the least of which is the period clothing women were expected to wear, YUCK!

Rhiannon was on my list last year! I agree those were freaking fantastic 🙂

I haven’t read (but do have) Amanda Carlson –now I am excited to try them.

I just started 2 weeks ago the Faith Hunter series. I am almost done with book 3 and I really love Jane/Beast!

I have Outpost and Horde on my Audio TBR! I just had to take a break after Allegiant let me down.

Read the last Morganville and adored it. Was sad to see the series end but loved the way she did it!

      Great list!
