First Thought when Finished: Loved the story in Poison Promise by Jennifer Estep but Bria needs to get over it already! Either accept your sister or move on.
Story Thoughts:There was a whole lot of kicking ass in Poison Promise and I liked it. Drug King needed taking down: Gin’s got it taking care of. New characters in the fold that could go either way: Gin’s got that too. A whole lot of twists, turns, and snark: Gin can handle it. It was just another great adventure for Gin and crew!
Character Thoughts: Let me be specific: every character was downright awesome except Bria. Seriously, I know it sucks that you are a cop and your sister is an assassin. Also, it sucks that she knows it is better for her to do things her way than you. JUST SUCK IT UP ALREADY. Can you tell she annoyed me a bit (or a lot) in Poison Promise? 🙂
Audio Thoughts:
Narrated By Lauren Fortgang / Length: 11 hrs and 8 mins
If you haven’t listened to Lauren narrate this series, you are seriously missing out.
Final Thoughts: Ready for the next adventure because I think I have a new side boyfriend. Finn is still my main man!

I have to starts this series again, The last one I listen to was By a Thread, number 6. I have many good hours before me.
Check out these if you want something slightly different but still kind of similar:
Poison Study (The Study #1) by Maria V. Snyder
The Night Angel Trilogy
Luck in the Shadows (Nightrunner #1) by Lynn Flewelling
They are not in the Paranormal / Urban Fantasy genre, but they still have some similarities.
Sounds like Bria needs to get her act together!! Fast!
I’ve heard I need to be reading this series! It’s on my list of series to start and I really like Lauren Fortgang so audio is a big possibility!
I hated Bria in this book, hated her so much! She redeemed herself in next book.
Oh! Bria really burned my hump in that one. I thought they had gotten over all that crap but apparently not. She was so annoying, but I loved the rest and yes, the audio is so, so great!
Yes Bria gets on my nerves too. LOL But she is better in the next one and I hope she stays that way.
YEAH! I was kind of hoping her “moment” at the end of this one would carry over!
I’ve gotten behind on this series and haven’t listened to or read this book yet. It is on my to-do list very soon, as I know Black Widow comes out very soon, like next month. Great review.
I am counting down to Black Widow! I could probably “read” it early but I have to listen. It just wouldn’t be the same without LF in my head.
I have not read this author to I have one of her novels in paperback, but it seems this might be one to start on audio if I give it a try. 🙂
Oh probably in my top 5 narrator/author combos! You will love the audio 🙂
Bria has sort of been on my nerves & it seemed she was getting better last book. 🙁
new boyfriend, aye *raises eyebrow*
This case was personal to her so it brought out Bria from the Beach Trip (which was probably my low point with her).
Yep new BF–:) Unlikely one but I am hoping to get to know him better in Black Widow!
