First Thought when Finished:Perfect Mate by Jennifer Ashley was a pretty good little novella but I wanted more!

Quick Thoughts: I wanted a longer story for Nell. I love her! She is pure mama bear and so deserving of love. While Cormac is a good match for her, I think a longer story would have made me fall in love with them more. There was a lot going on in Perfect Mate: kidnapping, action, mystery, mate-bonding. I just think it would have been better in longer format.

  1. I LOVE Jennifer Ashley Historicals and I have no idea why I haven’t felt like checking this series out. I ahve the first book on my Kindle, maybe one day 🙂
    Thank you Felicia!

  2. Lovely review hun. I really liked this one. The shorter length, especially with this series can be a downer, but Ashley does a great job with her novellas. I do wish it had been a full length novel, but oh well. What I have really loved how she has developed the series.

  3. That is so often the case with novella’s when you love a series, or an author, it is never enough. Glad you are still going strong with this series! I am especially fond of bear-shifters.

  4. I’ve been on a good run with novellas but the past few have left me feeling the same way. It’s a delicate balance when you have so much going on.

    • Yep! Granted I think I was lulled into expecting awesome from her since she gave me my very first 5 in novella form LOL I guess they all can’t be like that. Doesn’t help that Nell is one of my fav characters!
