The Black Dagger Brotherhood: An Insider’s Guide by J.R. Ward: What a very clever Insider’s Guide this was. It was not simply a compendium of facts but she cleverly put it together with interviews of the characters. I have found myself feeling like I was reading a magazine instead of a reference guide. It was highly entertaining and I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of this series!   Author Website: http://www.jrward.com/

Father Mine by J.R. Ward: I loved this short story about Bella/Z/Nalla! I thought it was a touching story of how to deal with the past, look to the future, and realize that a love of a family is enough to help you deal! It was a short quick read and very well written.   Author Website: http://www.jrward.com/

Lover Unbound by J.R. Ward: This has been my favorite book of the series so far. For 3 reasons: 1) The leading guy found that he could care and his story brought a lot of the lore into focus. He was not perfect but shared who he was with his leading lady. He so far as been the most sympathetic of characters. 2) The leading lady was strong, smart, resilient, and her flaws are what made her that way. She was a great example of bending not breaking and standing up for what she wants. 3) The lore really explained a lot of what this wonderful world is that JR Ward has created. I really feel like we are getting into the “meat” of the story. I can’t wait to read the rest of the books. One complaint: I am on the last of the books out now and the next one not due till April 2010 🙂 Author Website: http://www.jrward.com/

I am still loving this series but this books was a little flat for me. Mostly because I had a hard time liking Marissa. I did towards the end but in the beginning she was just not all that likable to me. I do like Butch’s storyline though how it plays out in the rest of the series is going to be interesting. Especially with the reveal at the beginning of the next book 🙂 Again impressed with how the storyline is carrying on and how all the characters play roles in each of the books! Book 3: Bella and Z–probably the central characters of the series. Only because their story is one of repairs of past issues and hope for the future. Also I can see how they are going to use Z’s past to help John/Darius/Therror in the future. As always she continues the story of the fight between the Lessers and the Brotherhood with focusing on the main fight between the Fore-Lesser and which Brother he is having issues at the moment.
