Quick Thoughts: This is a reread for me! This series is one of the first paranormal romances I fell in love with. Maeve is perhaps my favorite female vampire ever and her romance with Calder is fantastic. I loved everything about this story from the Civil War to the war for Vampires. There was action, romance, and a little twist at the end that never ever gets old no matter how many times I read it. If you are a fan of old school romance, I truly believe you will love this story.

Audio Thoughts:

Narrated by: Cris Dukehart /Length: 9 hrs and 57 mins

Cris really brought Maeve and Calder to life! I knew that she would nail Maeve because that character is a weird combo of very powerful and yet with Calder she is vulnerable. The way she played her was fantastic.

  1. I’m a recent fan of Miller’s so the subgenre seems strange for her. Your review has me thinking I should give it a listen!
