Month of Thanks

Hi Y’all! It is November and that is always the month I am reminded that there are tons of things that I am thankful for in my life. This year November will be known as the Month of Thanks. I am going to do 30 days of Thanks here on Geeky Bloggers Book Blog! Each day I will highlight one author (and the book they wrote that moved me) and one blogger (and their awesomeness) that I am thankful for! These are not in any particular order and by no means is 30 going to cover everyone that I love.

Month of Thanks

I am thankful for Ellery Adams for her wonderful way of telling stories that make me root for the good guys, sneer at the mean guys, and yell at the bad guys!  Most of all I am thankful that she writes stories that make me smile 🙂  One prime example of this brilliant storytelling is Pies and Prejudice!  I adored this book.  Pies and Prejudice made me smile, giggle, and wish that I could bake like Ella.  The aunts reminded me a little bit of my aunts so that made the book extra special to me!

Month of ThanksWhen the going gets tough, Ella Mae LaFaye bakes pies. So when she catches her husband cheating in New York, she heads back home to Havenwood, Georgia, where she can drown her sorrows in fresh fruit filling and flakey crust. But her pies aren’t just delicious. They’re having magical effects on the people who eat them–and the public is hungry for more.

Discovering her hidden talent for enchantment, Ella Mae makes her own wish come true by opening the Charmed Pie Shoppe. But with her old nemesis Loralyn Gaynor making trouble, and her old crush Hugh Dylan making nice, she has more than pie on her plate. and when Loralyn’s fiancé is found dead–killed with Ella Mae’s rolling pin–it’ll take all her sweet magic to clear her name.

Month of Thanks

I am thankful for Diana from Book of Secrets for being one of my oldest and dearest blogging friends!  She has a knack for making me smile and our reading moods tend to be in sync.  We both love to bake, eat, and look at really good-looking men.  We talk TV, what we are reading, and what else we are doing in life.  She knows just the right things to make me smile even when I am not in the mood.  You can’t ask for better blog friends than that!

  1. I need some pie baking over at my house. It’s tough. The pox is upon me. I’ve been cursed with the sickness. Maybe solve my mystery & get an awesome pie to boot 😉

Fixing to go meet your friend.

  2. Ahh. Love this month long feature, You just reminded me to contact this author for a blog appearance. I bought the book based on your glowing recommendation!

  3. Felicia, you’re so sweet! I’m thankful for you too. You’re one of the first bloggers I connected with way back in the day, and I never let you go. 🙂 *big hugs*

I am also thankful for Ellery Adams! I found out just recently that she is half of the “Lucy Arlington” writing team. I loved Lucy’s book, Buried in a Book, and it was cool to find out Ellery was a part of it!
