From Goodreads: Trust isn’t easy when the ones you want most are out to get you.
Ten years after she ran away from Earth, Lou Campbell is one job—just one more collar—away from earning enough credits to go home. All she has to do is lure Sam Dawson within range of her handcuffs with the promise of fast, hard sex. Easy.
Once she gets him there, keeping her own hands off him isn’t so easy.
Sam’s committed his share of sins, but he’s not guilty of selling secrets. Before he can convince the sexiest bounty hunter he’s ever seen that he’s been betrayed, all hell breaks loose. And he’s on the run with a false accusation on his hands—and a bleeding woman in his arms.
Alone in her boss’s safe house, Lou and Dawson’s simmering attraction explodes into full-blown fireworks.
When Jared Flores walks in on his best hunter and ex-lover in bed together, the surprise is mutual. Worse, the need he has long felt for both of them overrides his better judgment. After the fists fly, the sparks catch fire into a budding three-way romance.
Then Sam disappears, leaving Jared and Lou in a race against time to not only retrieve their lover, but save his life.
Warning: Hot M/F sex, M/F/M sex, and holy moly some really hot MMF sex amongst lots of weapons and fire fights. Deceitful family members, nasty set ups, and an Alpha male whose lovers have naughty punishments in mind—when they catch him.

Note: Let me preface this by saying it takes a lot for me to buy a 3 person long term relationship. Which is why I don’t read a lot of menage. However, Mel pulled it off with 3 characters I absolutely fell for and the story was great to boot!
What I Loved: The characters are really what made The Last Detail shine for me. Lou was a kick-ass, smart chick who pulled no punches when it came to getting what she wanted. I loved at one point Sam had described her as seductive, bitchy, and downright dangerous but at that moment in his arms he could see the woman underneath. Go Girl Go! Sam and Jared were both strong, good men who balanced out Lou in different ways. I loved that she had a history with Jared but that it was Sam that started it all. I think Sam was my favorite of the two but Jared was awesome too.
What I Liked/Wished there was more of: I am skipping complaints because I didn’t really have any. I wanted more of the story though and usually feel that way after a short read. This time I really wanted more of the story and more of that world. It truly was just fascinating! While I didn’t feel like I was missing anything, I just wanted more 🙂 Well done Melissa Schroeder!
Why I gave it a 4.25: At the heart, The Last Detail is an erotic romance that delivered on all cylinders. The SciFi twist definitely makes it stand out as a must read/own.
During her non-reading time you can find her hanging with her rescue furr children named after book characters: Lizzie a beautiful cattle dog mix (Pound Pup), Cinder a beautiful Shep/Pitt mix (Pound Pup), and Minerva a beautiful Shep/Pitt mix (Foster Fail). Gathering with friends and family, attending conventions, watching movies/tv shows, rooting for the 49rs, and crocheting.
