So the last month I have been on a rereading kick but I also managed to squeeze in some brand new to me authors. 2 of which stood out from the crowd: Mia Vincy and Rebekah Weatherspoon . Both of them have very refreshing and unique voices!
A Wicked Kind of Husband by Mia Vincy was a fantastic read that really caught me off guard. It had very witty banter, unusual leads, and secondary characters that were well flushed out. I even made my book club read it and they all enjoyed it too! I can’t wait for her to publish more books because this was her first y’all. If she is that good right out of the gate, I can’t wait to see what she brings with experience.
Where to find the Author:
My first (new read) 5 star rating of the year came from Rebekah Weatherspoon. OMG y’all she writes amazing characters who have very little angst. I have read 2 from her so far and they are very straight forward. It doesn’t mean there isn’t drama and some of the push/pull you need in Romance. It just isn’t centered on non-communication. I am so in love with this in a way that made me get her back list (or most of them). Also she has Rafe in audio which is just AWESOME! For Rafe specifically, this book had cute kids, handsome and sexy nanny (manny), and a kick arse leading lady. Also vibrant side characters!
Where to find the author:
So do y’all have any new authors that I need to try? Have you read these 2 before?
During her non-reading time you can find her hanging with her rescue furr children named after book characters: Lizzie a beautiful cattle dog mix (Pound Pup), Cinder a beautiful Shep/Pitt mix (Pound Pup), and Minerva a beautiful Shep/Pitt mix (Foster Fail). Gathering with friends and family, attending conventions, watching movies/tv shows, rooting for the 49rs, and crocheting.
