For #JIAM16 I am going to spotlight some of my favorite narrators. I plan on doing one a day until thKhristinee end of June. I hope you will give them a listen and if you have favorite narrators use this month to thank them for bringing such rich layers to stories we love!

KHvam-Headshot_FinalKhristine Hvam is an award winning audiobook narrator, director, and voice over actress. Having studied acting for the theater and film, she soon discovered a love of voice over. You will hear her in TV/Radio commercials, video games, animated series, and most notably in over 200 audio book titles. Khristine has been honored with several Audio Publishers Association Audie Award nominations and in the summer of 2012 earned her first Audie Award in the fantasy category for her performance of Lani Taylor’s “Daughter of Smoke and Bone” and a second for “Astray” by Emma Donoghue. Khristine has also received five AudioFile Magazine’s Earphone Awards for her performances. Most recently she has begun directing audiobooks, a journey she never imagined taking,  but one she is thrilled to be exploring. Khristine is a proud member of SAG/AFTRA.

My Reviews

What I like about her:

Khristine is another narrator that I have listened to far more than I have reviewed. The first book I listened to that she narrated was The Restorer by Amanda Stevens–great book and great narration. Next I listened to the Faith Hunter series. After hearing Khristine pull of Beast and Jane with such great gusto, I was hooked. I know that she is known in the YA Fantasy world. She is the reason that I tried the M.D. Waters and Laini Taylor series because after she became the narrator of the Vampire Academy series (books 2 and 3)–I realized that I trusted her voice in a reading realm that I am not always sold on. She really is one of the most dependable and enjoyable narrators out there!

Thank You Audiobook

  1. I didn’t recognize her name until you mentioned she narrated the Vampire Academy series. I read the hardcover edition of book 1 but the rest of that series I read via audiobook. I just looked at my review of Frostbite and saw that I gave Khristine 5 stars on her performance.

  2. I just listened to my first book by this narrator, The Shadow Queen. While I didn’t love the book (review to come), I did love the narration. I do plan to try her again soon.

  3. I don’t pay nearly enough attention to the narrators of my favorite audiobooks! You have inspired me to pay more attention and give them the love they deserve!

  4. I love her! I have only listened to the entire Graveyard Queen series she did but I do have Skinwalker to get to some time and she is one I might pick something up just cause she narrates it. 🙂

  5. She did an amazing job with Skinwalker. I currently have The Shadow Queen and Blood Cross, which I can’t wait to listen to. She is definitely on my must listen list.
