First Thought when Finished: How the White Trash Zombie Got Her Groove Back by Diana Rowland was not my favorite in the series but it was still full of fun, snark, action, and Angel Goodness!

Story Thoughts:First let me say this: The story did not suck. I have super high expectations cause Diana pretty much knocks it out of the park all the time. This time it just felt like I was waiting the whole book for something to happen and then felt more like it was a lead-in to the next book. Not that it is a bad thing but it just doesn’t rank as my favorite in the series.

Character Thoughts: Same kick ass characters, Same kick ass time! In fact, there were a few characters that I started to like a bit more than I had previously. BIG plus resolution of that relationship I don’t like. However, I think we are circling back but I hope I am wrong–they make better friends.

Audio Thoughts:

Narrated By Allison McLemore / Length: 14 hrs and 21 mins

Allison pretty much rocks every time! She is an excellent fit for this series and I wouldn’t “read” it any other way 🙂

Final Thoughts: Angel has some big decisions in the future.

  1. I loved the first 3 books in the series, but I think just like you said, my expectation were really high and it it didn’t deliver for me. It wasn’t bad, but I didn’t enjoy it nearly as much as the previous ones. I still love Angel, and I’ll be picking up the next book when it comes out.

  2. I used to love this series, I even pre-ordered this one, but for some reason I haven’t read it. The problem was I read some non-favorable reviews and that affected my decision. I will read it… someday.

  3. I have the first two or three books in this series on audio – so I’m thrilled that the narration is good. I’m not a huge fan of transitional books, but if the characters are still strong, I can handle it. Hopefully it lead up to a really great one!

  4. I agree completely Felicia. While it wasn’t a bad story, it wasn’t up to par with a normal White Trash Zombie book. I also was very disappointed in Angel at the end (like the last chapter, I wanted to kick Angel’s ass). I’m keeping faith that the author knows what she is doing, because she hasn’t let me down yet. Great review.

  5. I’ve had this one sitting on my Audible account since release day and still have not listened to it. I was a little bored with the book before and I think that’s why I’ve been dragging my feet on listening to it. I need to see if I can work in this month.
