Technology is a 21st Century god.
It’s a monster.Harlequin High, 1986. Kelvin Fish was the oddball, the weird kid that no one would talk to. Except for Patrick, who was determined to learn more about this strange child, and to befriend him. But Patrick would get more than he bargained for.
Mama Fish is a story about the paths we choose … about the changes in society, and in ourselves. It is told through the eyes of Patrick Beauchamp, a loving family man who, at his heart, is troubled by much darkness … a man quite literally caught between the ghost and the machine.

First thought when finished: I don’t know that it is safe to be to “connected” any more.
Short Review for a Short Book: Mama Fish was an interesting and thought-provoking read. I didn’t know what to expect when my friend handed me the book and said read it! She didn’t tell me a thing about it other than let’s discuss when finished. This is one of those books that you will want to talk to friends about after finishing. There are some thought-provoking things in the 91 pages where the story unfolds. So much is left up to the imagination and yet Rio Youers paints a clear enough picture that you get exactly what he is trying to say! Kelvin Fish is a fascinating thought and I would have been happier if the story was just a bit longer. I always say that though with short stories! This is a bit of a horror story though so be prepared to be a little creeped out!
Final thought: I would recommend this if you like creepy tales with a bit of a thought-provoking tick to them!

Dooooood! 7.99 for a novella? GAH!
You’re review definitely intrigued me, so I went to look up the book. No Kindle version and the paperback is pricey. GAH! Gonna see if my library wants to get it for me. LOL
I wouldn’t have spent that much for a novella but it is good if you can find someone to borrow it from 🙂
I love little novellas that are good and can be read in an hour or so. This sounds fascinating. I am going to Amazon to check it out!
It is a little expensive for a novella (ok a LOT expensive) but if you can find one in your library it is worth checking out 🙂
Well, if you were just creeped out and not freaked out, I may be able to handle it. I’m curious and I haven’t heard of this one. Hm….
I was only creeped out but it truly was a story of friendship and how our actions can trickle out through our lives!
