Welcome to Friday with Me Week 3, 4, & 5 edition! I missed the last two weeks due to Dallas Fan Days, Buns & Roses, and Dewey’s Read-a-Thon. It was totally a fun-filled couple of weeks and I have tons of pictures to share :)
Work Life: Guys we have lift-off! I have completed phase 1 of my very grueling project. I hammered some stuff out, found work arounds for some other things, and finally might get back to only working 50 hours a week. It has been good for my audiobook listening time to spend so much time working but honestly this chick needs a break LOL
Walking Life: #BookBlogWalkers is going so well that I think I am going to run the event again in Jan. I am going to keep the hashtag active though as I am really getting into the groove walking wise and would like to do it through the holidays! :) So if anyone wants to do it with me, feel free. I will cheer you on as we add activity into our lives!
DIY Life: I totally redid my living room last weekend. It has been raining so much that I haven’t been able to finish the reading cove (the glaze needs to be done during non-rain times). I decided to take the rainy weather and turn into a fall clean. We (my sister and I) mostly use the living room as storage but since my goal is to make the house have a more “homey” feeling, I cleaned it out. There is still some storage in there but it stacked against a back wall and there is plenty of living space. I am hoping over the next few months to get the storage stuff out of the living room so that it can be used properly.
Personal Life: I have managed to squeeze in some awesome events in the last few weeks: Dallas Fan Days (a smaller version of Comic Con) and Buns & Roses (Reading Event for charity)! At Dallas Fan Days I saw a ton of great Cos-play. The amount of work these people put into creating their outfits is AMAZING. Also I had my picture taken with Lou Ferrigno (HULK SMASH–man did he age really well). At Buns & Roses, I sat at Donna Grant’s table. I loved her Druid series (which isn’t even her popular series) and I am getting to her highlanders (read book 1). She was fun, spunky, and brought goodies that had hot man chest on it (Top Off Tuesday worthy). I also won a silent auction (I did the buy it now because I am not a fan of chance) of Kerrelyn Sparks Book Plate. That means that Dougal came home with me and now is in the Reading Cove! I had a blast talking to Emily McKay, Darynda Jones, Candace Havens, and Addison Fox. This is an event that raises money for Richardson Adult Literacy (the charity I read for in April and raised $125 for–so you know I was all over going)! Last weekend I participated in Dewey’s 24 hour read-a-thon, I always do this for charity and in the fall it is for animals (spring is literary). $89.50 went to Love on Wheels! So needless to say, it has been a pretty good number of weeks even though I have been working my tail feathers off.
Here is a picture of one of my book clubs at Buns & Roses (LOVE THESE GALS):
