#FitReaders: Weekly Check-in March 3 2017

#FitReaders hosted by Geeky Bloggers Book Blog  and That’s What I’m Talking About.

Hey FitReaders! It is time for your weekly check-in (feel free to use whatever day you want to check-in–these posts will be going up on Fridays)! How are you doing this week? Did you get a day, 2 days, 3 days of exercise? Are you on track with your other health goals! I am so very proud of you for making the effort to get heart healthy and putting exercise in your life. We can do it!

Confession: The last 2 months my weight has gone up continually even after cutting calories and doing extra workouts. My thyroid is out of whack again. I go to the DR on Thursday to see if I am going through the “change” which might be what threw it back out (last time this happened 4 years ago it was because my body was going through something that was throwing off my levels). It is a very frustrating thing and can be discouraging especially for someone who used to be 320 pounds and got down to 190. Right now I am sitting at 220 and I swore I would never go there again. However, I am determined to keep focused and not let it get me to “give up”. I wanted to share this because I know we all struggle. We all see the number on the scale and sometimes it can be the worst thing ever. Life has a way of making you question if it is all worth it (the diet, the exercise, ect). I am going to tell you that for me it is and I hope for you it is too. We are a group that supports each other through the highs and lows. So wherever you are in your journey just know that someone in the group is right there with you! Y’all inspire me every single day! Thank you for that and hopefully I start back down and we get it done together.

Exercise wise: I have started http://www.yourdailywalk.com and have done the video of the day every day. These are full body exercises and just so you can laugh: I totally bopped myself in the head when I let go of the stretchy band wrong. Those things are dangerous yo! 🙂

  1. I’m sorry to hear about your set-back. I really want/need to join in. I’ve really struggled to drop the baby weight. I don’t even know if you can call it baby weight anymore. It’s been almost 2 years. I’m going to join in soon. Really.

  2. I hope the doctors have answers for you. Sending love. I know you were hoping to get through this without medication, so I’ll keep sending positive vibes your way. I know that my ups and downs seem a lot more level when I keep up routine – log my food, etc. and lean on our group. You got this! Just as long as those bands don’t smack you around too much! 😉

  3. That has to be so frustrating with everything going on. I hope they can find some answers for you.

Averaging 14,280 steps per day and completed a 10k run on Wednesday. My running buddy and I have picked a half marathon to run in October (in the Colony if anyone wants to come cheer!)
I have 65 day run streak with doing a 5k per day.
March goals are 200k total for the month – 18k completed as of 03/02

  4. I hope the doc can get something figured out, Felicia. I know how discouraging a weight gain is when you’re working so hard. I’m kinda stuck at a weight – nothing seems to be moving me past it and that’s frustrating as well. But I keep at it. I had a pretty good February overall – added in just walking around while I talk on the phone, etc., so I’m moving instead of sitting. 🙂 Good luck and keep up the good work! <3
