#FitReaders: Weekly Check-in March 25 2016

#FitReaders hosted by Geeky Bloggers Book Blog  and That’s What I’m Talking About.

Hey FitReaders! It is time for your weekly check-in (feel free to use whatever day you want to check-in–these posts will be going up on Fridays)! How are you doing this week? Did you get a day, 2 days, 3 days of exercise? Are you on track with your other health goals! I am so very proud of you for making the effort to get heart healthy and putting exercise in your life. We can do it!

This week:

Make sure you go visit That’s What I’m Talking About and see her check-in

  • I had a good weigh-in on Monday. I was down the 2.5 lbs that I gained over the last 2 weeks. That felt good.
  • I joined a “give up 3” challenge. For me it is cheese, bread, and wine for 30 days. I have held to it for 7 days so far. So far I can’t say I feel any better without those in my life so I will wait till the 30 days to decide if cheese and bread stay out (I am not gluten or dairy free–it is strictly bread and cheese)
  • Still meeting my step goals (which are lower during spring) while having lots of DIY time. I get a lot more strength type of things in during this season!

Question: Did you participate this entire quarter? If so send me an email with your mailing address and I will mail you a prize. It isn’t anything big but a way to say WTG!

How did you do?

  1. I’ve had a busy week, so while I did meet my steps everyday (actually a lot more than my goal) it was just from running around and not from exercise. I guess that still counts, though, right? Glad to hear about your weigh in. Good luck on giving up wine, cheese and bread! 🙂

  2. Way to go on the weight loss!!! I’ve been sick the last 2 weeks, so have been taking it easy, just easy walking – hoping with another week of that, that this cold/sinus infection will finally go away! I had found a really good strength-training workout and had to put it on hold – couldn’t do it without coughing like crazy!

    Have a great week!!!

  3. I really need to start this!! I don’t know why I haven’t yet. I might in April, since I am starting an intense program workout with Sweat with Kayla—-which is suppose to be super intense but short workouts—I am all for that hehe More time for reading 🙂

  4. Yea!! Great job with the weight and the steps.

I can’t believe we are one whole quarter into another year! This first quarter has been a lot of ups and downs for me, but I think I’m finally on track.

  5. Got my 10k in on Sunday! Helped rescue and return a neighbor’s dog on Saturday (No ID tag or a chip, it was an adventure). Got in an average of 21,300 steps per day. Two good gym sessions with upping my bench press and back squat weights. My 25 yr class reunion is coming up so I am working on building muscle and cutting a few calories where I can with eating better. Oh, got my scuba instructor business cards, I feel legit now LOL

congrats on the 2.5 lb loss. Cutting out food can be weird, you either feel amazing or ugh. I wish there was a happy medium.

  6. I’m excited to that spring is finally coming around so that I can get back to riding. I even started getting my horses ready to start riding. I’ve been cleaning them up and started shedding them out. Getting them back in shape. If the weather stays the way it has been, I’ll be riding next week. Yay!

Yay, for your weight loss. Without bread or cheese, I would lose more than half of my meals. Pretty much everything I eat has one or the other. Good for you for trying it. I did no sugar for a while (which cut out most bread). It helped some. I should go back on it for a while.

  7. Janina

I am finally back at running after some stressful weeks. Now I just have to reduce my intake of sugar.
