#FitReaders: Weekly Check-in July 29 2016

#FitReaders hosted by Geeky Bloggers Book Blog  and That’s What I’m Talking About.

Hey FitReaders! It is time for your weekly check-in (feel free to use whatever day you want to check-in–these posts will be going up on Fridays)! How are you doing this week? Did you get a day, 2 days, 3 days of exercise? Are you on track with your other health goals! I am so very proud of you for making the effort to get heart healthy and putting exercise in your life. We can do it!

This month I will be checking in where I stand on my goals week to week 🙂

July Check-in (Goals where I stand): (Only 2 more days this month)

  • 6500 steps 6 days a week
    • NAILED IT WEEK 1
    • NAILED IT WEEK 2
    • NAILED IT WEEK 3
NAILED IT WEEK 4 (August I will move that up to 7000)
  • 10 min strength training 6 days a week (rotating areas–this will be done at first just using my own body weight and then moving into weights)
    • NAILED IT WEEK 1
    • Struggled Week 2
    • Did much better Week 3
    • Did not do well at all
  • 7th day just take a walk as long as I feel fine. This could be 10 min to an hour. It should be done more at a normal walking pace—this is kind of a “rest” exercise.

    • My rest recovery walk Week 1-5k
    • Week 2-PokemonGo Stroll
    • Week 3 – 30 min Dog Walk
    • Week 4 —2 15 min Walks
  • Diet: 90% Mediterranean Diet minus Nightshade Vegetables

    • Working on it. Week 1 was OK
    • Week 2 much better at eating “cook at home” –still working on what foods I can eat, what foods I can’t.
    • Week 3 I fell off a bit during my “get real with my budget” planning but was back on by the weekend!
    • Week 4-Total Fail! I had a staycation full of bad food!
  • Vitamins every day!

    • NAILED IT Week 1
    • Struggled Week 2
    • NAILED IT Week 3
    • Nailed it Week 4

  1. I have to admit that I’ve been using Pokemon Go to meet some of my goals, too. I don’t really play it, but I can use it to bribe the kids to go on a walk with me!

  2. I seem to be in the same boat as you with the food – I just can’t seem to get on track, and the heat doesn’t seem to be helping! Oh well…I’m not going to stress…I’ve got the steps in and so did you! Have a good week!!!

  3. You’re still doing a fantastic job! I’m having trouble myself with sticking to healthy foods. I have not been doing well at all with it, actually! I may need to reassess and see what I can do to make it stick! Keep up the good work!

  4. Nice job on the stepping and walks. Staycation is tough on good eating. I’m on “staycation” all summer, since I’m off and home with the kids. I’ve put on weight and can’t get it off. Ugh!

  5. Went back for first visit to campus after a two semester break, and wasn’t sure how I’d handle the walking involved. Nailed it–and without a cane. I had only carried it in case I got tired. We rewarded ourself with a healthy and delicious late breakfast at the local Egg and I. I ate half of the breakfast and brought the rest home to reheat in the microwave. So, for a first day back to the routine of school, I did pretty well. (You know, a post on keeping to a routine to keep eating healthy and going well might be in order. I ,for one, would read it!
