#FitReaders: Weekly Check-in August 14 2015

#FitReaders hosted by Geeky Bloggers Book Blog  and That’s What I’m Talking About.

Hey FitReaders! It is time for your weekly check-in (feel free to use whatever day you want to check-in–these posts will be going up on Fridays)! How are you doing this week? Did you get a day, 2 days, 3 days of exercise? Are you on track with your other health goals! I am so very proud of you for making the effort to get heart healthy and putting exercise in your life. We can do it!

This week sucked! Before I total up whether I hit step goal let me say that this week taught me a lot about doing it even when you really want to curl up in a ball and say screw it. I think weeks like this are important. They prove we can pull ourselves up by the bootstraps and that it is OK to be off occasionally.  So Saturday I was in a car wreck, Tues/Wed I worked 17 hour days, CC was stolen Wed, and yet I had a lot of blessings this week. I have my home, family, friends, and job. I am A-OK but my steps might not have been LOL (especially Wed where I was like NOPE NOT MOVING)

  • Friday:    6881 steps/ 35 Active Min
  • Saturday: 9192 steps/ 29 Active Min
  • Sunday:  11352 steps/ 52 Active Min
  • Monday:   8864 steps/ 50 Active Min
  • Tuesday:   6852 steps/ 28 Active Min
  • Wednesday:  3337 steps/ 0 Active Min
  • Thursday:  10707 Steps (7pm/fitbit charging)/ 58 Active Min

Average: 8169 steps

So while I met my step goal overall wasn’t my greatest fitness week. In fact, every time I met/exceeded goal was because I forced myself too. While I prefer organically—I like that I am committed enough to make it happen when I don’t want too.  I haven’t had a coke since last Friday and down to 3 meals a day (anything I want to eat)/ 1 snack. SO I am proud of that!

Did you commit to exercise for August yet?

  1. I’m way behind on my blog reading. I’m glad you are getting better from the car wreck. And although you like things more organic… It’s such an accomplishment to get out there despite the negative. PLUS – this is the way you “train your brain and body” so that you want to go out and walk… right?

  2. Sorry about the week of icky challenges.
I just went snack crazy, and remembered I had not checked in.
Steps are okay for me, but I am losing ground on food. It is good for me to say it outloud. I am burning calories like crazy, but snacking to keep up with the lost calories is not my plan.
Hope you are having a better week.

  3. Sorry about your week and hopefully things turn around this week.

I’ve kind of been the same way as far as motivation but I make myself do *something* even if it’s 10 minutes. I don’t enjoy it – it’s tough – but I’m proud of myself at the end of the week so I guess it’s worth it lol

  4. I told you about my silly wreck to make sure you know to get that neck checked if you have a chiro if you have any neck pain. ((HUGS)) on the week. I’m not having a good day today, and I’m also trying not to beat myself up about it. 🙂 Looks like you are doing well!

  5. I’m actually not posting an update today b/c I’m freaking out about my 5K tomorrow. I think I’ve actually given myself a migraine, of all things. Just what I needed, of course. My hubs thinks I’m funny 😛

You are amazeballs that you got out even when you wanted to go and hide. Ya know, all the crap doesn’t mean anything in the grand scheme, anyways. You got it right by the time you posted you had so many blessings. I never worry about you!!! You’ve got your puppies so I know you’re taken care of 😉

    Freakin’ thieves!!! WTH??? You rock!!

  6. Great job on hanging in there! Sorry about the car and credit card. We had to replace our card this week when we noticed odd charges (2) and called the businesses (both online companies) and confirmed they were not our charges. Yikes. Pays to check often. I hope the week ahead is a calm one in all ways for you.

  7. I’m so sorry you had a tough week Felicia…but glad you are okay. I am so inspired by you. I was away and think I gained back the 4 pounds I worked so hard to lose — still not sure b/c I’m too afraid to go on the scale. I’ll remember this story for the future to spur me on.
