#FitReaders: Weekly Check-in Aug 26 2016

Hey FitReaders! It is time for your weekly check-in (feel free to use whatever day you want to check-in–these posts will be going up on Fridays)! How are you doing this week? Did you get a day, 2 days, 3 days of exercise? Are you on track with your other health goals! I am so very proud of you for making the effort to get heart healthy and putting exercise in your life. We can do it!

This month I will be checking in where I stand on my goals week to week 🙂

July Check-in (Goals where I stand): (Only 2 more days this month)

  • 7000 steps 6 days a week
      • Week 1–Nailed it!
      • Week 2–Nailed It!
      • Week 3–Nailed It!
      • Week 4-Nailed It! (though this week is off to a rough start due to having a procedure on Tuesday)


  • 10 min strength training 6 days a week (rotating areas–this will be done at first just using my own body weight and then moving into weights)
      • Week 1-Mostly stretches due to shoulder issues
      • Week 2-Started going to the Chiro. We will see if this helps.
      • Week 3- Horrid 🙁
      • Week 4- Horrid x 10 didn’t even attempt it. BAD ME!


  • 7th day just take a walk as long as I feel fine. This could be 10 min to an hour. It should be done more at a normal walking pace—this is kind of a “rest” exercise.
      • First time I have not hit goal number on off day but did have a 20 min stroll
      • Did great this week!
      • 10 min stroll did not hit goal number on off day
      • My day off this week wasn’t a day off since I had to take 2 this week.


  • Diet: Low-Gluten, Low-Sugar –High Protein, High Vegetable
      • Week 1-NAILED IT! Jar Salads FTW
      • Week 2-Did well during the week but the weekend was bad.
      • Week 3-Food Sucked this week!
      • Week 4 – Food was fine but wasn’t as vegetablecentric as it could have been.


  • Vitamins every day! Anti-Inflammatory Daily!
      • Week 1-Nailed IT! Dr prescribed an anti-inflammatory so starting that also.
      • Week 2-Prescription did well. Vitamins we are waiting on blood work to see if I need to switch them up.
      • Week 3-Nailed It! I think we can officially call it a habit.
      • Week 4- NAILED IT!

  1. I think we all have ups and downs…and that’s what is so great about this group – that we can share the good and the bad with each other and have the support and motivation to keep at it! I also had a so-so week, partly due to a procedure, but knowing that I would be checking in at the end of the week kept me doing something as opposed to just sitting on the couch all week!

  2. You’re still doing fantastic! I’ve had a couple of dental procedures lately so it has set me back, too. But mostly I’ve just been out of the habit of exercising regularly, so I’m not doing as well as I would like. But I’m armed with a Fitbit now and ready to get back into the swing of things! We can do this!
