2016 Virtual 5k/10k/Fun Mile Series January Finish Line

Welcome to #FitReaders hosted by Geeky Bloggers Book Blog and That’s What I’m Talking About.
What is a Virtual Fun Mile/5k/10? This Virtual Fun Mile/5k/10k is organized online and FitReaders from all over the world can compete. Where it is different from a traditional Fun Mile/5K/10k is that you are responsible for completing the walk/run at any place you desire, at any time during the race timeframe that works for you. You must complete one of the 3 races in one session: 1 mile is for those just starting out. 5k/10 are for those that are ready for a bigger push. For this series, each race will need to be completed between the first and last day of the month. You will need to take a picture at the end of the race (not of your face if you don’t want but your time, song list, ect) and post it either on FB, Twitter, or your check-in. Then add your name to the finish line below and what race you completed (in the comments) so that I can keep track for end of the year medals (for 5k/10k) and certificates (for Fun Mile). Grab your virtual ribbon so that you can display it proudly on your check-ins either on your blog, FB, or Twitter. If at the end of the year you have completed 10 of the 12 races–you will get a medal or certificate!
REMINDER: you most complete either a Mile, 5k, or 10k in one session. At the end of your session sign the linky below and leave which one you completed in the comment section!
So are you ready to lace up your sneakers? Are you ready to up your commit to fit?

Did both 5k and 10k this month.
I did the fun mile and the 5k which I’m pretty stoked about 😀
All three done!
1 Mile – Jan 9
5K – Jan 13
10K – Jan 31
January was a bust but I did get in my 5k. Here’s the link to my pic from the FB group.

Was going to do the 5k but fell about 1 mile short. *shrugs* oh well, that’s still two miles more than I would have done, so I’m happy and that still gets me the fun mile 🙂 Next month I’m going to try to hit 5k again.
5k done today on a very cold, but thankfully bright and sunny morning. Slight run in with a farm dog, but other than that, it went well. Think I’ll stick with ParkRun next time though XD
Finally completed my 5k just in time 🙂
Back on the road so 5k got done. Yay
Week 1 down! I did the 1 mile run! 😀 Next week I will attempt both the 5k and 10k race…but I’m not holding my breathe

So excited to have completed my first 5K ever yesterday! Instead of doing my usual approximately 2miles on the eliptical trainer (I usually set the goal in time–25 minutes), I pushed a little harder and set my target for 3 miles. It feels so empowering to know that I can do it now!
Got my 5k done today
WOOT!
I do 1 mile everyday with the dogs but the hot weather finally went away so we got out to walk the 5k. I doubt I’ll be able to do them in the summer because of the heat so I’ll squeeze in as many as possible this winter.
5K done!! In theory I’d love to do the 10K as well, but I remembered today how much I do not like the treadmill. 🙂
I did the one mile so far.
This is a fantastic idea. I’ve completed my 5k already.

Awesome idea, I did my January 5k … looking forward to doing them in our winter lol
I did my 5K for the month (actually did 2 so far!) …did them both on the treadmill – too cold to do any outdoor walks right now, plus, I’m in the middle of jury duty 🙁 but I do plan on finding some outdoors and definitely plan on doing at least 1 10K by the end of the year!!!
Just finished walking my 5k 😀 turns out I shouldn’t be intimidated by that number haha. Goal for the year will be to work up to 10k!
I am going for 5k and if my lungs can handle more I will increase it.
Finished but will keep going through the month!
I just love this idea! I’ll build back up to a 5k by the end of the month hopefully 🙂
Did a 5K yesterday without realizing that I walked that much yesterday.
I did a 5k…insane. I’m still thinking, “What in the heck did I do?!” ha!
I’m starting with the 5K and going from there. Can’t wait to get back in the groove.
The 10k is my Ultimate goal for this month and I am going to have to wait a few weeks to get that posted. I did find local 5k’s for Jan, Feb and March and am looking for an April 10k race.
