#FitReaders: Commit to Exercise for Aug 2017

Welcome to #FitReaders hosted by Geeky Bloggers Book Blog  and That’s What I’m Talking About.

It is time to commit to exercise for the month of  Aug 2017 ! Whether you are just joining us, need to get back on the wagon, or just going to keep up your progress from last year– now is the time to stand up and say “I’m in! I’m committed to getting up and getting moving!”

What is a Virtual 5k?  This Virtual 5k is organized online and FitReaders from all over the world can compete. Where it is different from a traditional 5K is that you are responsible for completing the walk/run at any place you desire, at any time during the race timeframe that works for you. For this series, each race will need to be completed between the first and last day of the month. You will need to take a picture at the end of the race (not of your face if you don’t want but your time, song list, ect) and post it either on FB, Twitter, or your check-in. Then add your name to the finish line page for Aug so that I can keep track for end of the year medals. Grab your virtual ribbon so that you can display it proudly on your check-ins. If at the end of the year you have completed 10 of the 12 races–you will get a medal

So are you ready to commit to fit? Remember there will be weekly check-ins, motivation on twitter (#FitReaders) and on Facebook

  1. I’m planning on a virtual 10k this month! I have been listening to IT on audio, so I have a whole lot of content to keep me busy and moving!

  2. I think I’m finally ready to try this virtual 5K/10K marathon. I’ve always enjoyed reading a book while using the elliptical machine or listening to an audiobook walking on the treadmill and doing weights. It’s definitely too hot to walk to work, plus I lost my Virgin Pulse Max yesterday, boo! Now I have double motivation to put more time in at the gym located above my unit at my apartment complex. That requires more sleep, but I’m hoping I can make both happen successfully. =)
