Length: 12 hrs and 16 mins
Date Read: February 2016
Genre: Police Thriller, Thriller
Flora Dane is a victim.
Seven years ago, carefree college student Flora was kidnapped while on spring break. For 472 days, Flora learned just how much one person can endure.
Flora Dane is a survivor.
Miraculously alive after her ordeal, Flora has spent the past five years reacquainting herself with the rhythms of normal life, working with her FBI victim advocate, Samuel Keynes. She has a mother who’s never stopped loving her, a brother who is scared of the person she’s become, and a bedroom wall covered with photos of other girls who’ve never made it home.
Flora Dane is reckless.
. . . or is she? When Boston detective D. D. Warren is called to the scene of a crime—a dead man and the bound, naked woman who killed him—she learns that Flora has tangled with three other suspects since her return to society. Is Flora a victim or a vigilante? And with her firsthand knowledge of criminal behavior, could she hold the key to rescuing a missing college student whose abduction has rocked Boston? When Flora herself disappears, D.D. realizes a far more sinister predator is out there. One who’s determined that this time, Flora Dane will never escape. And now it is all up to D. D. Warren to find her.

First Thought when Finished: Having read this once and listened once, I can say Find Her is one of those thrillers that actually hold up on reread!
Quick Thoughts: There isn’t much that I can say about the story without giving things away. So I am going to be a little general! At first, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like Flora’s POV but it ended up being oh so important. The parallel figuring out of who was behind the crime was scary good. The twists and turns are exactly what you expect from Lisa Gardner. In other words, don’t get to comfortable in thinking you figured it out. She is likely to pull the rug out from under you at least once. I also love that her endings are not predictable. I love DD, she is an excellent cop. Though, in this case, I love that Lisa made her not likable at times because it really showed some character growth. She learned a lot this story about team work and knowing limitations. Find Her definitely delivered on all levels.
Narrated By Kirsten Potter / Length: 12 hrs and 16 mins
Kirsten nailed this performance. The Flora sections were chilling and very vivid. Her pacing difference between Flora and DD was spectacular. I can’t recommend listening to this enough. You really need to feel the emotions that Kirsten nails. Crazy Good!
